MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> October 23, 1979 <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FL~G <br /> Mayor Frank ~randes, Jr., called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to <br /> order at 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes were present. Mr. <br />Brown, City Manager, Mr. Walker, Assistant City Manager, Mr. Levine, City Attorney, <br />Mr. Campbell, Director of Public Works and Utilities, and Mr. ~rris, Director of <br />Planning and Community Development, were present. <br /> <br /> AGENDAAMENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Brown requested that the following amendments be made to the agenda: <br /> <br /> Correct item 4i - Approval of Plans and Specifications and Authorization to Call for <br /> Bids for the Construction of Division Street Storm Drain Line, to amend the start of <br /> construction until after the Christmas holidays. <br /> <br />Withdraw item 8i - Appeal of McDonalds Corporation of a decision of the Board of <br />Adjustment denying an application for a variance for an over-height free-standing <br />sign for the McDonald's Restaurant proposed to be constructed on the 1.6 acre site <br />located at the northeast corner of Santa Rita Road and Pimlico Drive (Continued <br />Open from 9-18-79 and 10-9-79), at the request of the applicant. <br /> <br />Add item 13b - Approval of letter regarding Willow-West project. <br /> <br /> Mr'. Brown advised there would be an Executive Session at the conclusion of this <br />meeting to discuss personnel. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Kephart, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, that <br />the following items listed on the Consent Calendar, as amended thereto, be approved: <br /> <br />a. Approval of City Council Minutes for October 9, 1979, and October 11, 1979. <br /> <br />h. Proclaim Week of November 11, 1979, as Veterans Week in Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> c. Adoption of Ordinance No. 909, rezoning an 8.1 acre site located east of Santa <br /> Rita Road approximately 120 feet north of Mohr Avenue from the P (Public and <br /> Institutional) District to the PUD (Planned Unit Development) District and <br /> designating commercial uses as follows: that the northern 3.6 acres of the <br /> property owned by Ms. Myers be utilized for Central Commercial Uses; that the <br /> balance of the property owned by Ms. Myers be devoted to Office Uses; and that <br /> the 1 acre parcel owned by Drs. Schlies and Clementson be zoned 0 (Office) <br /> District and not be part of the Myers PUD, and amending the Zoning Map of the <br /> City of Pleasanton accordingly. <br /> <br /> <br />
