MINUTES of THE MEETING of THE CITY COUNCIL October 9, 1979 CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG Mayor Frank Brandes, Jr., called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. ROLL CALL Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes were present. Mr. Walker, Assistant City Manager, Mr. Levine, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Director of Public Works and Utilities, and Mr. Harris, Director of Planning and Community Development, were present. AGENDA A~NDMENTS Mr. Walker requested that the following amendments be ~de to the agenda: Continue item 4e - Adoption of Ordinance No. 909, rezoning a 9.1 acre site located east of Santa Rita Road approximately 120 feet north of Mohr Avenue from the P (Public and Institutional) District to the PUD (Planned Unit Development) District and desig- nating commercial uses as follows: that the northern 3.6 acres of the property owned by Ms. Myers be utilized for Central Commercial Uses; that the balance of the property owned by Ms. Myers be devoted to Office Uses; and that the 1 acre parcel owned by Drs. Schlies and Clementson be zoned 0 (Office) District and not be part of the Myers PUD, and amending the Zoning Map of the City of Pleasanton accordingly (Introduced 9-18-79, 5-Ayes), to the meeting of October 23, 1979. Add item 4m - Approval of 1979-80 Mayors Formula Distribution. Add item 4n - Approval of CC&R's for Longview Project. Continue item 8d - Appeal of McDonalds Corporation of a decision of the Board of Adjustment denying an application for a variance for an over-height free-standing sign for the McDonald's Restaurant proposed to be constructed on the 1.6 acre site located at the northeast corner of Santa Rita Road and Pimlico Drive (Continued Open from 9-18-79),Ito the meeting of October 23, 1979. Continue item 8e - Appeal of Thomas Jorgensen of a decision of the Planning Commission denying Case RZ-79-13, an application to fezone a 0.7 acre site located at 4225 Stanley Boulevard from the R-1-6500 (Single-Family Residential) District to the C-S (Commer- cial Services) District, to the meeting of November 13, 1979. Add item 9a - Allocation of CETA Position. Councilmember ~iercer requested that item 4J - Approval of Plans and Specifications and Authorization to Call for Bids for the Demolition of a portion of Vervais Yard, Project No. 79-14, be removed from the agenda and sent to the Park and Recreation Com- mission for their review and recommendation. Council concurred. Councilmember Mercer requested that item t2a - 1979 Foothill High Band Booster Parade, be heard earlier on the agenda to accommodate the audience.
