- Santa Rita Jail Replacement. The City Council agrees with the Board that the <br /> existing Santa Rita Jail should be replaced as soon as possible. The City <br /> Council supports such a replacement at an appropriate location on the avail- <br /> able land. The replacement should not include an expansion to accommodate <br /> more inmates than the present facility may accommodate. <br /> <br /> - New Pre-Trial Detention Facility. The Santa Rita site should not be the <br /> location for a new pre-trial detention facility. The current policy of the <br /> Board of Supervisors to place these facilities near courts and larger urban <br /> centers should continue. <br /> <br /> - Costs for Facilities. The total cost to the taxpayers should be one of the <br /> main considerations in determining the location of these facilities. <br /> <br />and authorizing the Mayor to send this policy statement to the Board of Supervisors. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> Mr. Brown presented the report of the Assistant City Manager dated September 13, <br />1979, regarding Gravel Trucks on First Street, stating that based on truck counts <br />taken September 12, 1979, it can be assumed that the annual number of truck trips <br />on First Street has increased 132 percent since the agreement with the gravel com- <br />panies was signed. <br /> <br />RAP Application Fee <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report dated September 13, 1979, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by-Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Mayor Brandes, that Reso- <br />lution No. 79-177, amending the resolution establishing Fees and Charges for various <br />Municipal Services to include a Residential Allocation Program application fee of <br />$200/proJect, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br /> There were no reports of the City Attorney presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br /> There were no Communications presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL CALENDAR <br /> Mr. Brown presented the Calendar for the information of the'Council. <br /> <br /> Mayor Brandes advised the next meeting for Residential Allocation Program <br />allocations would be held on November 20, 1979, 8:00 P.M. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> Mayor Brandes recessed the meeting at 11:05 P.M., to an Executive Session to <br />discuss litigation and personnel. <br /> <br /> Mayor Brandes reconvened the meeting at 12:30 A.M. <br /> <br /> 11. 9/18/79 <br /> <br /> <br />
