MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> September 18, 1979 <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG <br />Mayor Frank Brandes, Jr., called the Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City <br />Council to order at 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes were present. Mr. <br />Brown, City Manager, Mr. Levine, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Director of Public <br />Works and Utilities, Mr. Harris, Director of Planning and Community Development, <br />and Mr. Walker, Assistant City Manager, were present. <br /> <br />AGENDAA~NDMENTS <br /> Mr. Brown requested the following amendments be made to the agenda: <br /> <br />Add item 4h - Proclaim October 7-14, 1979, as Symphony Week in Pleasanton. <br /> <br />Continue item 8c - Appeal of McDonalds Corporation of a decision of the Board of <br /> Adjustment denying an application for a variance for an over- <br /> height free-standing sign for the McDonald's Restaurant pro- <br /> posed to be constructed on the 1.6 acre site located at the <br /> northeast corner of Santa Rita Road and Pimlico Drive, to <br /> October 9, 1979, at the request of the applicant. <br /> <br />Continue item 12c- Annexation Request: Hacienda Mobile Homes, 5 acres on Vineyard <br /> Avenue, to October 9, 1979, at the request of the applicant. <br /> <br />Remove item 12d - Annexation Request: James D. Quick, 8 acres, Amber Lane, at the <br /> request of the applicant who desires to withdraw the annexation <br /> request. <br /> <br />Add item 12h - RAP Application Fee. <br /> <br /> Mayor Brandes requested that item 12b - Traffic Study - Valley Avenue and Green- <br />wood Road, be considered after item 8d on the agenda. Council concurred. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and secondedby Councilmember Mercer, that <br />the following items listed on the Consent Calendar, as amended thereto, be approved: <br /> <br />a. Adoption of Ordinance No. 903, rezoning approximately 6.1 acres of land owned by <br /> Henry Cupples located at the southeast corner of Hopyard Road and 1-580 from the <br /> C-F (Freeway Commercial)District (Zoning Unit Map #191). <br /> <br />b. Adoption of Ordinance No. 905, amending Title I, Chapter 1, Section 1-1.15 (In- <br /> fractions) by designating additional code sections to be punishable as Infrac- <br /> tions rather than Misdemeanors. <br /> <br /> <br />
