MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> September 11, 1979 <br /> <br /> COMMENDATION TO MATT ANGER~ NATIONAL JUNIOR16s TENNIS CHAMPION <br /> Mayor Brandes presented a City Council Commendation to Matt Anger for his out- <br /> standing accomplishments in the field of tennis and for winning the National Junior <br /> 16s tennis tournament. <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG <br /> Mayor Frank Brandes, Jr., called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to <br /> order at 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br /> Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes were present. Mr. <br /> Brown, City Manager, Mr. Levine, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Director of Public <br /> Works and Utilities, and Mr. Harris, Director of Planning and Community Development, <br /> were present. <br /> <br /> AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> ~yor Brandes stated that item 12e - Proposed Annexation No. 77 (Pestaria) would <br /> be considered simultaneously with item 8a relative to the prezoning of this property. <br /> <br /> Mayor Brandes stated that item 8b - Application of Joe Boatright and Ray Goodrich <br />for a rezoning to PUD (Planned Unit Development) District and development plan appro- <br />val for an ll-lot residential subdivision on 55 acres of the 73 acre site located west <br />of Foothill Road and north of Longview Drive, and accompanying Negative Declaration, <br />will be continued to the City Council meeting of September 18, 1979, at the request <br />of the applicant. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brown stated that in connection with item 4e - Acceptance of Temporary Ease- <br />ment for Pedestrian-Bicycle Path, the Bishop of the Catholic Church of Oakland had <br />cooperated in quickly granting the easement for a pedestrian-bicycle path, and sug- <br />gested that a letter of appreciation be sent to the Bishop. Council concurred. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, that <br /> the following items listed on the Consent Calendar be approved: <br /> <br /> a. Approval of City Council Minutes for August 28, 1979. <br /> <br />b. Adoption of Resolution No. 79-152, approving Urban County Cooperation Agreement <br /> between City of Pleasanton and Alameda County for Housing and Community Develop- <br /> ment Act Program, retaining the right of the City of Pleasanton to withdraw from <br /> the agreement but amended so as to avoid the necessity of yearly renewals. <br /> <br />c. Adoption of Resolution No. 79-153, after review of bids, awarding the Contract <br /> for the Overlay of Vineyard Avenue, Project No. 79-6, from First Street to Adams <br /> Way, to W. G. Lewis, Inc., 781 Old Country Road, San Carlos, in the amount of <br /> $20,658.00, and authorizing the appropriate City officials to execute the con- <br /> tract. <br /> <br /> <br />
