The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor ~ercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Kephart <br /> <br />First Readin~ of an Ordinance amendins the City~s contract with the State P.ubliC. <br />EmplOyment Retirement System for the purpose of adopting ~he 2% @ 50...retirement <br />formula for the. City Public Safety Fire Personnel and Adoption of a Resolution of <br />Intention <br /> Mr. Walker presented the report of the Assistant to the City Manager (SR 80:305) <br />dated October 21, 1980, regarding this matter. Mr. Walker explained this is a legal <br />requirement to implement the program and will cost the City $68,657. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open on this item. <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in favor of or in opposition to this item. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, that <br />Resolution No. 80-277, declaring the Ctty's intention to amend its Public Employees <br />Retirement System contract to provide the 2% at 50 formula to the City's Fire De- <br />partment public safety personnel, and authorizing the appropriate City officials <br />to execute the contract, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor ~Iercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Kephart ~. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, that <br />Ordinance No. 948, to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, <br /> Cit ' <br />amending the y s contract with the State Public Employment Retirement System for <br />the purpose of adopting the 2% @ 50 retirement formula for the City's Public Safety <br />Fire Personnel, be introduced. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Kephart <br /> <br />~J_TTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br /> There were no matters continued for decision presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />SPECIAL REPORTS <br /> There were no Special Reports presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />Actions Taken by the Board of Adjustment at their Special Meeting of 10-14-80 <br /> Mr. Swift presented the report of the Director of Planning and Community Develop- <br />ment (SR 80:300) dated October 16, 1980, regarding this matter.
