Resolution on Tax Rate Exchange for Remen Tract Annexation (No. 79) <br /> Mr. Walker presented his report (SR 80:317) dated October 23, 1980, regarding <br />this matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Chuck Muth, 3644 Vine Street, stated he was opposed to this annexation. He <br />stated that on March 13, 1979, many residents in this area had attended a Council <br />meeting and voiced their opposition to annexation of the Remen Tract to the City <br />and that Council voted against the annexation. Mr. Muth stated that if this area <br />is annexed the homeowners will be forced to pay for improvements such as streets, <br />sewer, and lights. He stated he felt it would not be of any economic benefit to <br />the City to annex this tract. <br /> <br /> Ms. Sylvia Riccio, 3759 Vineyard Avenue, stated she was opposed to annexation <br />as it would change the life style of the area, and that none of the residents were <br />in favor of any change. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Council- <br />member Wood, that the City reject the proposed exchange of property tax revenues for <br />Remen Tract Annexation (No. 79), and that the County be notified of this decision. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Kephart <br /> <br />~ister City Program <br /> Mr. Walker presented the report of the Assistant to the City Manager (SR 80:304) <br />dated October 22, 1980, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> After discussion, Council determined this matter is low priority,/that it would <br />be better for Pleasanton to have its own sister city, and that the sister city pro- <br />gram should be pursued by a citizens group if further interest warrants such action. <br /> <br />Request Direction on How to Proceed with the Renovation of the Interim Police Buildin~ <br /> 51r. Warnick presented his report (SR 80:311) dated October 22, 1980, regarding <br />this matter. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved bv Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Council- <br />member Mohr, that Resolution No. 80-278, authorizing the City Manager to proceed with <br />the renovation project by purchase orders for labor and materials on the open market, <br />be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Kephart <br /> <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> There were no matters for the information of the Council presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br />~egulation of Political and Certain Temporary Signs <br />(Con~d. from 10-14-80) <br /> Mr. Levine presented his report (SR 80:293) dated October 8, 1980, regarding this <br />matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. William Kovac, 3124 Weymouth Court, stated he was concerned about temporary <br />signs such as the ones advertising roses off Tassajara Road, and he felt these should <br />not be allowed. <br /> <br /> 10. 10/28/80 <br /> <br /> <br />
