MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> September 16, 1980 <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG <br /> ~yor Kenneth Mercer called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at <br /> 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> .... Dep~y city Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br /> Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, and Mayor Mercer were present. Councilmember <br /> Wood was absent due to illness. Mr. Walker, City Manager, Mr. Levine, City Attorney, <br /> Mr. Harris, Director of Planning and Community Development, Mr. Swift, Assistant <br /> Planner, and Mr. Warnick, Director of Public Works and Utilities, were present. <br /> <br /> AGENDAAMENDMENTS <br /> .Mr. Walker requested that an item be added to the agenda as item 13b - Accept- <br /> ance of Improvements for Tract 4119, Vintage Hills. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker advised that a letter had been received this date from Interstate <br /> Uniform Services Corporation requesting a continuance of item 8a - Appeal of Inter- <br /> state Uniform Services Corporation of a decision of the Planning Commission denying <br /> their application for a conditional use permit which would allow an addition of <br /> 2,500 sq. ft. to the existing nuclear laundry facility at 65 Ray Street, zoning for <br /> the property is C-S (Commercial Services) District; for six weeks to. allow the appel- <br /> lane to prepare additional information for consideration by Council. Mr. Leonard <br /> Post, Attorney representing residents on Ray Street, state'd that if Council granted <br /> the six~weeks continuance, he would request an additional six weeks continuance to <br /> allow him ample time to review the additional information. After discussion, Council <br /> determined to grant a six week continuance of this item to allow Interstate Uniform <br /> Services Corporation to present additional information, and to grant a three week <br /> continuance after that date to allow the Attorney for Ray Street residents ample time <br /> to review-this information. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker advised there would be an Executive Session at the conclusion of this <br />meeting to discuss labor relations. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Kephart requested that item 4g - Extension of Contract with Coopera- <br /> tive Personnel Systems, be removed from the Consent Calendar and moved to item 12i on <br /> the agenda for discussion. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, that <br /> the following items listed on the Consent Calendar, as amended thereto, be approved: <br /> <br />a. Approval of City Council Minutes for 8-26-80. <br />b. Proclaim September 21, 1980, as National Ministers Day. <br />c. Proclaim October 5-11, 1980, as S>~phone Week in Pleasanton. <br />d. Proclaim October 12-19, 1980, as "Junior Week" in Pleasanton. '- <br /> <br /> <br />
