Mr. John Ferrari, Realtor, advised that some apartments are being converted <br />at a cost lower than new construction, and this fact should be taken into con- <br />sideration when reviewing the condominium conversion ordinance. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Mohr, and seconded by Council- <br />member Wood, to amend and reintroduce Ordinance No. 936 to include an annual review <br />process and to prevent new apartments from being converted to condominiums for at <br />least five years. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers }Iohr and Wood <br />NOES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, and Mayor Mercer <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilmember Kephart stated he felt that Planning Commission should have taken <br />a position on this ordinance. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Butler and Mayor Mercer reiterated their concern regarding the <br />need for increased rental housing in Pleasanton, and felt that Ordinance No. 936 <br />was too restrictive and therefore should not be adopted. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Councilmember ~Iohr, to <br />table the adoption of Ordinance No. 936 until approval of the Housing Element of <br />the General Plan. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Mohr and Wood <br />NOES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, and Mayor Mercer <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Kephart, <br />that Ordinance No. 936, regulating Condominium Conversions in the City of <br />Pleasanton, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmember Mohr <br />NOES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Due to the above vote, Mayor Mercer dismissed this item from any further <br />Council action. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer recessed the meeting at 10:20 P.M. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer reconvened the meeting at 10:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Adoption of Ordinance No. 938~ approvin~ the. application of Golden Gate Racquetball <br />Courts for development plan approval of a 33,920 ~q. ft. racquetball facility on a <br />1.23 acre site at "Old Hopyard Road" just south of 1-580~ zo~.ing forthe property <br />is PUD (Planned Unit Development) District <br />(Intro. 7-22-80., 3-Ayes, 2-Noes) <br /> ~yor Mercer stated that Ordinance No. 938 was introduced on July 22, 1980, by <br />a vote of 3-Ayes, 2-Noes, and that it was now in order to adopt the ordinance. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Kephart, <br />that Ordinance No. 938, approving the application of Golden Gate Racquetball Courts <br />for development plan approval of a 33,920 sq. ft. racquetball facility on a 1.23 <br />acre site at "Old Hopyard Road" just south of 1-580, zoning for the property is PUD <br />(Planned Unit Development) District, be adopted. <br /> <br /> s. 8/12/so <br /> <br /> <br />
