Request of City of Orange to Join as Amicus in Appeal Regarding Drug Paraphernalia <br />Ordinance <br /> Mr. Levine presented his report dated August 11, 1980, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Kephart, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, <br />authorizing the City Attorney to join as amicus in the appeal of the City of Orange <br />regarding enforcement of the drug paraphernalia ordinance. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Approval of Agreement with CH2M Hill for environmental studies relative to increased <br />capacity of the LAVWMA pipeline by 1 MGD <br /> Mr. Levine presented the draft agreement relative to this matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, that <br />Resolution No. 80-211, approving the Agreement between the City and CH2M Hill for <br />the planning and design, environmental studies and report, and contract administra- <br />tion of improvements to increase the capacity of the LAVWMA export system by 1.0 <br />million gallons per day (1.0 MGD) of treated sewage effluent, and Task Order #1 <br />relating to feasibility and environmental studies, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Adoption of Ordinance No. 904~ amending. Article 8~ Chapter2s of Title IV of the <br />Ordinance Code of the CitY of Pleasanton by addin~ Subsection 4-3.50(e) relating. <br />to Unsolicited Newspapers <br />(Intro. 9-1!-79~ 4-Ayes, 1-No) <br /> Mr. Levine asked Council if they were interested in pursuing this item to its <br />adoption. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, that <br />Ordinance No. 904 be dismissed from further review and action. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Counci!membersButler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />COMiMUNICATIONS <br /> There were no Communications presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL CALENDAR <br /> Mr. Walker presented the Calendar for the information of the Council. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker advised that the City Council meeting of September 9, 1980, falls <br />on a City holiday. After discussion, Council rescheduled this meeting to September <br />16, 1980. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> There being no further business at 1:15 A.M., it was moved by Councilmember <br />Wood, and seconded by Councilmember Kephart, that the meeting be adjourned to meet <br />again in Regular Session on August 26, 1980, 8:00 P.M., at the Fairgrounds Cafeteria. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> 15. 8/12/80 <br /> <br /> <br />
