Adoption of Resolution No. 80-187, approving Special Exemption from RAP - Tracts <br /> 4373 and 4239, because each tract meets the criteria of large lot subdivisions <br /> and general requirements for special exemption. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCILMEMBERS <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, that <br />a letter of appreciation be sent to the Chairperson andmembers of the Land Use/ <br />Circulation Review Committee for their study and report regarding this element of <br />the General Plan. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilmember Wood requested that the Staff Traffic Committee review the possibi- <br />lity of placing a warning sign near the Tot Lot Park on Northway Road near the end <br />of Heatherlark and Goldcrest Circle, for the safety of children in this area. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Kephart requested that Council support him in asking for an enforce- <br />ment program related to overloading of and spillage from gravel trucks using City <br />streets. He directed the City Manager to make known the City Council's strong con- <br />cern to the Chief of Police regarding enforcement action taken relative to overload- <br />ing of gravel trucks. Councilmember Kephart also requested that the possibility of <br />using a portable scale in Pleasanton be explored to check some of the.loads going <br />through the City. Councilmember Kephart requested a report through the Traffic Com- <br />mittee relative to enforcement action taken for overloading of and spillage from <br />gravel trucks on City streets. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Kephart stated that Council had received a letter from Mrs, Richard <br />H. Waldron, 1519 Loganberry Way, relative to street striping being done in the City, <br />and asking why this project was being funded rather than increased street lighting. <br />Staff explained that the striping program was State funded by grant and was required <br />to be used for this purpose. Councilmember Kephart requested staff to respond to <br />Mrs. Waldron's letter with this information. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Kephart asked when the proposed noise ordinance would be ready for <br />review. The City Attorney advised it would be considered at the August 26th Council <br />meeting. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Kephart requested an explanation of the insurance rates for the <br />City as submitted by Cooper, McKenzie, Murphy. He stated he would meet with the City <br />Manager for a clarification of the different rates submitted. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mohr asked if any response had been received from the gravel com- <br />panies and the Teamsters relative to their cooperation in requiring gravel trucks to <br />be covered. The City Attorney advised that the letters had been written this date <br />and were ready for the Mayor's signature. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer expressed concern relative to the number of vehicle accidents occur- <br />ring on Foothill Road. He requested a report regarding the location of the accidents <br />and possible removal of trees and telephone poles in particular sports that might <br />create hazardous conditions. <br /> <br /> 2. 7/22/80 <br /> <br /> <br />
