County of A!ame~a.,' City of Plea~anton, et aI <br /> Mr. Levine presented his report dated April 15, 1980, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, that <br />Resolution No. 80-111, authorizing the City Attorney to formally request Alameda <br />County to provide defense in the case of Sears, Roebuck & Company, a Corporation, <br />v. County of Alameda, City of Hayward, City of Oakland, City of Fremont, City of <br />Livermore, City of Union City, City of Pleasanton, City of San Leandro, Does I <br />through X, inclusive, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmembers Kephart and Wood <br /> <br />Report on Condominium Conversions <br /> Mayor Mercer declared this item continued to the meeting of May 13, 1980, for <br />full Council attendance. <br /> <br /> Mr. Levine stated that if Councilmembers had any suggestions or changes they <br />desired to see made in the draft ordinance to advise him before the May 13 meeting. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Butler requested that a clause be added to insure that the tenter <br />had the first right to purchase. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />Letter from ~lamed.e' County Mosquito Abatement District <br /> Mayor Mercer presented a letter from the Alameda County Mosquito Abatement Dis- <br />trict dated April 4, 1980, advising that the District funding has been reduced by <br />40%, however, the District has continued to provide control of species of mosquitos <br />that are considered to be of highest priority to control, and will continue to pro- <br />vide the most effective control possible for existing level of funding. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL CALENDAR <br /> Mr. Walker presented the Calendar for the information of the Council. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer requested that the City Council Calendar be retyped to reflect the <br />new liaison assignments. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer advised that on April 27th, 1980, McDonald's Corporation would be <br />sponsoring '~McHappy Day" with a portion of the proceeds donated to "Special Olym- <br />pics" and that elected officials were requested to work as a contribution to this <br />project. He urged Councilmembers to participate if their schedules permitted. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker advised that the Final Environmental Impact Report for the Gravel <br />Truck Ordinance would not be completed in time for the public hearing meeting <br />scheduled on April 29th, therefore this meeting should be cancelled. He stated <br />he would discuss another date with Council when it could be determined when this <br />report would be complete. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Butler advised he would be absent from the May 13th meeting. <br /> <br /> Council discussion ensued relative to a time to interview Planning Commission <br />candidates. Council tentatively scheduled April 30, 1980, beginning at 7:30 P.M., <br />at the City Hall Conference Room, subject to the attendance of Councilmembers <br />Kephart and Wood. <br /> <br /> 10. 4/22/ao <br /> <br /> <br />
