Adoption of Resolution No. 80-70, approving the Conflict of Interest Code for <br /> the Human Services Commission as presented and approved by the Human Services <br /> Commission. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Butler, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br /> NOES: None <br /> ~, . ABSENT: Councilman Kephart <br />~ MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCILMEMBERS <br />CO Councilmember Mercer asked if the City had accepted the median strip for the <br />~ Del Valle Parkway. Mr. Campbell advised that it has not been accepted by the City. <br />~ Councilmember Mercer stated that weeds in this area are getting out of hand and <br />~[ that this problem should be corrected. Councilmember Mercer also expressed concern <br /> regarding traffic safety at Del Valle Parkway and Hopyard Road, and requested staff <br /> to report on the possibility of providing a left-turn stacking lane as well as ade- <br /> quate signing at this location. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer stated that exiting from the Burger King Restaurant on <br /> Hopyard Road is confusing. He requested that Burger King be instructed to provide <br /> adequate egress signing to alleviate this problem. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer stated that the Pleasanton Garbage Company contract in- <br /> cludes two free pickups of yard clippings; one in the Spring and one in ~he Fall. <br /> He advised the Spring pickup is usually done in May or June, which he felt was too <br /> late in the season. Councilmember Mercer requested staff to contact Pleasanton <br /> Garbage Company to see if they could accomplish the Spring pickup in April. <br /> <br /> Mayor Brandes read a letter addressed to the City Council from Planning Com- <br /> missioner Kenneth Geppert, dated March 25, 1980, tendering his resignation as a <br /> member of the Planning Commission effective this date. Mayor Brandes and Council <br /> accepted Mr. Geppertve resignation and commended him for his dedicated and out- <br /> standing service on the Planning Commission. <br /> <br /> Council' discussion ensued regarding filling this vacancy on the Planning Com- <br /> mission as well as the expiration of the term of Bill Jamieson as a member of the <br /> Planning Commission. Staff was instructed to advertise for the two vacancies on <br /> the Planning Commission; the deadline for applying set as April 15, 1980, with <br /> interviews scheduled on April 22, 1980, 7:00 P.M. Council also instructed staff <br /> to invite Mr. Jamieson to apply for re-appointment as a member of the Planning <br /> Commission. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, that <br /> the City Council commend Kenneth Keppert for his service on the Planning Commis- <br /> sion and for his outstanding efforts to the community in other ways. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Butler, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilman Kephart <br /> <br /> 2. 3~25~80 <br /> <br /> <br />
