Initiation of Ordinance Requiring Conditional Use Permits for Nuclear Related <br /> Businesses <br /> Mr. Levine presented his report dated March 19, 1980, regarding this item. Mr. <br /> Levine thanked Councilmember Butler for his assistance in preparing this ordinance. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Butler suggested that the words "nuclear research" be omitted. <br /> He added this ordinance would cover any activity for which a business would have <br /> to apply and receive a state or federal license. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by <br /> Councilmember Butler, that the City Council initiate an ordinance requiring a <br /> Conditional Use Permit for nuclear related businesses, and to refer this proposed <br /> ordinance to the Planning Commission for their review and comment. <br />~ The roll call vote was as follows: <br />T~ AYES: Councilmen Butler, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br />CO NOES: None <br />~ ABSENT: Councilman Kephart <br /> <br /> Parking Regulations on Johnson Drive <br /> Mr. Levine presented his report dated March 20, 1980, regarding this matter. <br /> Mr. Levine advised he could amend the resolution to read "no vehicles and/o= tractor <br /> trailers", which would cover dropped trailers. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Butler questioned placing no parking limitations on automobiles <br /> and stated he was opposed to this. The City Attorney advised the resolution could <br /> be amended to regulate only those vehicles greater than 20 feet in length. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded.by~ayor <br /> Brandes, to amend Resolution No. 76-79 (establishing traffic regulations'for City <br /> streets) by adding Section 13.5 relating to no overnight parking and designating <br /> Johnson Drive from Tennis Town to the southern most end of Johnson Drive on both <br /> sides within that restriction. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilman Mercer and Mayor Brandes <br /> NOES:- Councilmen Butler and Wood <br /> ABSENT: Councilman Kephart <br /> <br /> Mayor Brandes declared this item continued to the meeting of April 22, 1980, <br /> due to the split vote. <br /> <br /> Denial of Pacific Telephone Claim <br /> Mr. Levine presented his report dated March 19, 1980, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer abstained from participation on this item due to Conflict <br /> of Interest. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mayor Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, that <br /> Resolution No. 80-79, denying the Claim of Pacific Telephone Company in the amount <br /> of $8,000.00, be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Butler, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilman Kephart <br /> ABSTAINED:Councilman Mercer <br /> <br /> 10. 3/25/a0 <br /> <br /> <br />
