Mayor Brandes stated he felt the land use circulation committee should review <br /> this area for possible annexation to the City. He stated he felt approval of this <br /> request ~ould set a bad precedent. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer stated he felt each case should be considered, and he was <br /> not opposed to helping individuals with septic tank problems but was opposed to <br /> annexation at this time. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Butler expressed concern that allowing sewer hook-ups might reduce <br /> the incentive to annex to the City, but he was in favor of solving this particular <br /> problem. <br /> <br /> After further discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by <br /> Councilmember Butler, that Resolution No. 80-63, allowing Mr. and Mrs. Ed Shannon, <br /> 3536 Vine Street, to connect to the existing City sewerage system with an agreement <br /> to annex at some future date, be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows:' <br /> AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, and Wood <br /> NOES: Mayor Brandes <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> CITY COUNCIL CALENDAR <br /> Mr. Walker presented the Calendar for the information of the Council. <br /> <br /> Council discussion ensued regarding City Council meetings for April. It was <br /> determined that the Regular Meeting on April 8, 1980, would be cancelled due to <br /> the General Municipal Election held that day; installation of elected officials <br /> would occur on April 15, 1980; the Regular City Council meeting would beheld on <br /> April 22, 1980; and the public hearing on gravel truck Environmental Impact Report <br /> scheduled on April 29, 1980. <br /> <br /> EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> Mayor Brandes recessed the meeting at 11:00 P.M., to an Executive Session to <br /> discuss litigation and personnel. <br /> <br /> Mayor Brandes reconvened the meeting at 11:40 P.M. <br /> <br /> Council instructed the City Manager to begin recruitment for a Director of <br /> Public Works and Utilities to replace Mr. Campbell, who is resigning effective <br /> March 28, 1980. Council further instructed the CityManager to hire an engineering <br /> consultant firm to work for the City until such time as a Director of Public Works <br /> and Utilities is hired. <br /> <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> There being no further business at 11:45 P.M., it was moved by Councilmember <br /> Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, that the meeting be adjourned to <br /> meet again in Regular Session ohM arch 25, 1980, 8:00 P.M., at the Fairgrounds <br /> Cafeteria. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> S R.
