Adoption of Resolution No. 80-40, accepting Grant Deed and Public Service Easement <br /> from J. Ronald and Elizabeth E. Johnson, John A. and Judy Guthrie, and James F. <br /> and Joan B. Dugan, for a Spring Street Development as follows: (1) dedication of <br /> a 588 sq. ft. parcel cf land along Spring Street frontage for street right-of-way <br /> purposes; and (2) grant of public service easement to provide for proposed <br /> utilities. <br /> <br />f. Accept bY motion the audit of financial transactions for Fiscal Year 1978-79. <br /> <br />g. Adoption of Resolution No. 80-41, approving plans and specifications and authori- <br /> zation to call for bids for 'the construction of Water Turn-Out No. 4 located at <br /> the southwest corner of Hopyard Road and Stoneridge Drive. <br /> <br />h.Adoption of Resolution No. 80-42, approving Claims for the month of January, <br /> 1980, in the amount of $577,357.18. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilmember Kephart abstained from voting on approval of the City Council Minutes <br />of February 11, 1980, due to his absence from that meeting. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer requested a report regarding payment to Kennedy Engineers <br />listed on the January Claims, detailing the services rendered for the amount paid. <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCILMEMBERS <br /> Councilmember Mercer stated he had received complaints regarding vandalism to the <br />signs related to the par cours in the Amedor Valley Community Park. Staff was in- <br />structed to investigate this matter. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer stated that he had talked to Assemblyman Mori recently re- <br />garding prohibition of drug paraphernalia being sold to minors. He advised that <br />Assemblymen Mori and Levine have introduced AB-2442 to prohibit minors from purchas- <br />ing drug paraphernalia, with violation being considered a misdemeanor. Council- <br />member Mercer requested that the Mayor transmit letters to all Alameda County and <br />State officials to support the measure; to request the thirteen Alameda County Mayors <br />and League of California Cities to pass resolutions in support of this legislation; <br />and tow rite letters of thanks to Assemblymen Mori and Levine for introducing the <br />legislation and pledging support in this matter. Council concurred. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Wood asked if parking restrictions were in force for the entire <br />length of Main Street. Mr. Campbell advised that the south end of Main Street was <br />not covered by the existing ordinance. Council instructed staff to report back on <br />March 11, 1980, regarding extending the parking restrictions to the south end of <br />Main Street. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Wood thanked Mayor Brandes and Councilmember Kephart for their <br />involvement in the drug paraphernalia problem in the City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> <br />
