379 <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> June 23, 1981 <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG <br /> Mayor '~nneth Mercer called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at <br /> 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />· ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br /> Councilmembers Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer were present. Councilmember <br /> Butler was absent. Mr. Walker, City Manager, Mr. Levine, City Attorney, Mr. War- <br /> nick, Director of Public Works and Utilities, and Mr. Harris, Director of Planning <br /> and Community Development, were present. <br /> <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Walker requested that an item be added as item 12f - Approval of Memorandum <br /> of Understanding with the Firefighters Local 1974. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker advised there would be an Executive Session held at the conclusion <br /> of this meeting to discuss pending litigation. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mohr requested that the Minutes of the Meeting of June 9, 1981, <br /> be corrected on page 22, 1st paragraph, to read "no parking of vehicle~ oy.er 20 ft. <br /> in length" on the east side of First Street, <br /> <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Councilmen~er Mohr, that <br /> the following items listed on the Consent Calendar, as amended thereto, be approved: <br /> <br /> a. Approval of City Council Minutes for June 9, 1981, as amended. <br /> <br />b. Adoption of Ordinance No. 979, approving the application of the Planning Commis- <br /> sion to fezone an approximately 8~3 acre site owned by the San Francisco City and <br /> County Water Department bounded by the Arroyo del Valle on the North, Alameda <br /> County Fairgrounds/Valley Avenue Extension on the East, with the balance being <br /> surrounded by the property of Alfred Fromm, from the "S" (Study) District to the <br /> PLY-Industrial Commercial and Offices District, and amending the Zoning Map of <br /> the City of Pleasanton accordingly. <br /> <br /> c. Adoption of Resolution No. 81-191, approving Claims for the month of May, 1981, <br /> in the amount of $771,752.45. <br /> <br />d. Adoption of Resolution No. 81-192, approving the Second Year Housing Rehabilita- <br /> tion Program Contract for 1981-82, and authorizing the appropriate City officials <br /> to execute the contract. <br /> <br />e. Adoption of Resolution No. 81-193, authorizing staff to enter into negotiations <br /> with Alameda County Fairgrounds for use of the Young California Building for a <br /> tennis program for 1981-82, and 1982-83 from November 1 to March 31 of each <br /> year with an option for the month of April. <br /> <br /> <br />
