Johnson, owners of <br /> property adjacent to the subject land use change proposal, stated there were <br /> many similarities in the t~o properties and that both are ideal for limited <br /> industrial growth by reason of their location. Re stated the primary function <br /> of planning is to anticipate where growth will occur and where development <br /> should be located. He stated he felt the recommended change is not sound plan- <br /> ning. Mr. Schenone presented a letter from the County Administrator to the <br /> Board of Supervisors, dated June 1, 1981, regarding annexation of the Staples <br /> Ranch to the City of Pleasanton, and recommending that the Board of Supervisors <br /> tentatively approve the annexation of the County-owned Staples Ranch to the <br /> City of Pleasanton, subject to the parcel being prozoned its currentPleasanton <br /> general plan designation of "General and Limited Industrial". Mr. Schenone <br /> stated that both the Staples Ranch and the Moldt Ranch are within the Sphere of <br /> Influence of Pleasanton. He asked that action be delayed on this item until <br /> Alameda County, the City of Pleasanton, and his clients could meet to discuss <br /> the future of this property. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker advised that he had talked to Alameda County this date and they <br /> had requested that this item be continued. <br /> <br />20. Change the BART alignment to make it parallel to or within the 1-580 right-of- <br /> way for its entire length thropgh the planning area. There should be a station <br /> near the Stoneridge Shopping Center and the location of additional stations, if <br /> an~, should be determined at a future date <br /> <br /> Mr. Dick Wenzel, BART planning staff, stated that BART is interested in <br /> coordinating any future extension with the City of Pleasanton. He stated that <br /> with regard to the feasibility of realignment they would like to work with the <br /> City and Celtrams.
