<br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Council-
<br />member Wood, that Pleasanton participate with Livermore in a Joint cable television
<br />committee for the purpose of reviewing the cable television franchises of both com-
<br />munities; recommending that the following persons serve on the Citizens Committee
<br />subject to agreement of the Livermore City Manager: Charlotte Severin, Darla Stevens,
<br />Lynn Mitchell, Barbara Mertes, Bob Scruggs, John Edmands, Mark Eaton, Betty Nostrand,
<br />and DeWitt Ault; and advising the City of Livermore of this action and Pleasanton's
<br />willingness to cooperate.

<br /> Ms. Bengtson presented her report (SR 81:168) dated May 20, 1981, regarding
<br /> this matter.

<br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Council-
<br />member Wood, that Resolution No. 81-163, approving the staff report as follows: (1)
<br />that the City Council support SB 573 and notify legislators of their support; (2)
<br />if SB 573 passes prior to July 1, 1981, that Council direct staff to notify the
<br />Metropolitan Transportation Commission that the City of Pleasanton will continue to
<br />subsidize scrip purchase for clients as allowed under SB 573 legislation; and (3)
<br />that the City Council direct staff to prepare a plan to implement a farebox recovery
<br />system to be activated on July 1, 1981, for an indeterminate period if SB 573 fails
<br />to pass, and as an interim measure if SB 573 either is in the process of passage or
<br />has passed but is not effective to a later date with details of dropping the farebox
<br />recovery system to be worked out by City and MTC staff, be adopted.
