( <br /> <br /> Mr. Oliver Anjo stated. he was originally opposed to the City Council Chambers <br />project because he felt there might be a conflict of interest involved. He ex- <br />pressed 'concern regarding its effect on the proposed Cultural Arts Center. Council- <br />member Kephart stated that as Council liaison to the Cultural Arts Council he could <br />assure Mr. Anjo this group had no problem with the Council Chamber proposal and <br />were not opposed to it. <br /> <br />Appointment of Park and Recreation Commission member and Pleasanton Housing Authority <br />member <br /> Mayor Mercer stated the following persons were interviewed on March 16, 1981: <br /> <br />For Housing Authority Board <br /> Dawn Gordner <br /> Thelma R. Mello <br /> <br />For Park and Recreation Commission <br /> Howard T. Garrigan <br /> Alfredo F. Meneses <br /> Jacquie Oliverius <br /> Allen J. Schuh <br /> Marcia L. Taylor <br /> 3ames R. Tomcik <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer stated it was now in order to make appointments to the Park and <br />Recreation Commission and the Housing Authority Board. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Kephart, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, that <br />Resolution No. 81-75, reappointing Dawn Gordner as a member on the Pleasanton Housing <br />Authority Board for a term of four years, said term to expire January 25, 1985, be <br />adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Butler <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Mayor Mercer, that Resolution <br />No. 81-76, reappointing Howard T. Garrigan as a member of the Park and Recreation <br />Commission for a four year term, said term to expire February 15, 1985, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Butler <br /> <br /> Councilmember Kephart advised that a new District Attorney would soon be appointed <br />for Alameda County. He stated he felt criminal Justice is lacking in a lot of areas <br />and he expressed grave concern relative to plea bargaining. He requested that the <br />new District Attorney be aware of this issue and to look into this matter. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mohr advised that the public hearing relative to the draft Environ- <br />mental Impact Report for the proposed gravel quarry on' Foothill Road is scheduled for <br />April 6, 1981, at the Alameda County Planning Commission in Hayward. Councilmember <br />Mohr stated that since the project will have a direct impact on this area she felt a <br />public hearing should be held in Pleasanton, preferably at Lydiksen School or Foot- <br />hill High School in the evening to allow input of those persons most directly affected, <br />before the Alameda County Planning Commission makes a final decision on this item. <br /> <br /> 3. 3/24/81 <br /> <br /> <br />
