101 <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Kephart, <br />that Ordinance No. 963, to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, <br />amending the City's Contract with State Public Employees' Retirement System for the <br />purpose of providing Section 20862.8 (unused sick leave credit) for local miscellan- <br />eous members only, be introduced. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Reqpest for garbage rate increa.se by Pleasanton Garbage Servicet inc. <br /> Mr. Walker presented the report of the City Council Subcommittee dated February <br />5, 1981, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open onthis item. <br /> <br /> Mr. Marry Inderbitzen, Attorney representing Pleasanton Garbage Service, Inc., <br />presented a written memorandum to Council explaining concerns regarding effective <br />date of the rate increase; procedure for future rate increases; Vineyard Avenue <br />maintenance; the effect of the Busch Road site being designated a regional transfer <br />station; and specific language in Exhibit B of the report relative to the net worth <br />of Pleasanton Garbage Company and M & M Land Company. Mr. Inderbitzen stated his <br />client was opposed to Alternate 2 of the Subcommittee recommendation, and favored <br />Alternate No. 1. <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in opposition to this item. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing <br />closed. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Council- <br />member Mohr, that Resolution No. 81-36, approving a revision to the garbage rates <br />charged by Pleasanton Garbage Servide, Inc., as follows: - <br /> <br /> Effective January 1, 1981, the existing rate schedule would be <br /> adjusted by 32.8%: <br /> <br />Collection Rates <br /> A.
