MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> December 8, 1981 <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO ~E FLAG <br /> Mayor Mercer called the'Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 8:00 p.m., <br />and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer were present. Mr. <br />Walker, City Manager, Mr. Levine, City Attorney, Mr. Warnick, Director of Public <br />Works and Utilities, and Mr. Harris, Director of Planning and Community Development, <br />were present. <br /> <br />COMMENDATION TO POLICE OFFICER WILLIAMRETNOLDS <br /> Mr. Walker presented his report (SR 81:430) dated December 2, 1981, regarding <br />this matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and 'seconded by Councilmembe, Wood, that <br />Resolution No. 81-412, commending Police Officer William Reynolds for his action in <br />saving the life of 18 month old Patrick Timothy Mendonce, who fell into a swimming <br />pool on Beechwood Way on November 15, 1981, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer presented the commendation to Officer Reynolds, and expressed <br />appreciation on behalf of the City Council for his heroic efforts in saving the <br />life of this young accident victim. <br /> <br />AGENDAAMENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Walker stated that item 8a - Appeal of Valley Business Associates of a <br />decision of the Planning Commission denying a .major modification to Case PUD-80-1 <br />to change the streets in the business park proposed for the 69 acre site located <br />south of Valley Avenue and east of the residences on Kolln Street from private to <br />public, would be continued indefinitely at the request of the appellant; and that <br />item 12b - Resolution accepting proposal for Special Assessment Proceedings-Valley <br />Business Park Assessment District, related to the above item, should be removed <br />from the agenda. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker requested that an item be added to the agenda as item 13b - Mitiga- <br />tion Measure Agreements with Reynolds and Brown, and Kaiser/Permanente. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, that <br />the following items listed on the Consent Calendar be approved: <br /> <br />a. Approval of City Council Minutes for November 24, 1981. <br /> <br />b. Adoption of Ordinance No. 1008, approving the application of the City of <br /> Pleasanton for amendments to the zoning ordinance pertaining to parking <br /> requirements and development standards for small, multi-family residential <br /> rental units in the downtown area. <br /> <br /> <br />
