MINUTES of THE MEETING of THE CITY COUNCIL December 8, 1981 CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO ~E FLAG Mayor Mercer called the'Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 8:00 p.m., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. ROLL CALL Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer were present. Mr. Walker, City Manager, Mr. Levine, City Attorney, Mr. Warnick, Director of Public Works and Utilities, and Mr. Harris, Director of Planning and Community Development, were present. COMMENDATION TO POLICE OFFICER WILLIAMRETNOLDS Mr. Walker presented his report (SR 81:430) dated December 2, 1981, regarding this matter. It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and 'seconded by Councilmembe, Wood, that Resolution No. 81-412, commending Police Officer William Reynolds for his action in saving the life of 18 month old Patrick Timothy Mendonce, who fell into a swimming pool on Beechwood Way on November 15, 1981, be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer NOES: None ABSENT: None Mayor Mercer presented the commendation to Officer Reynolds, and expressed appreciation on behalf of the City Council for his heroic efforts in saving the life of this young accident victim. AGENDAAMENDMENTS Mr. Walker stated that item 8a - Appeal of Valley Business Associates of a decision of the Planning Commission denying a .major modification to Case PUD-80-1 to change the streets in the business park proposed for the 69 acre site located south of Valley Avenue and east of the residences on Kolln Street from private to public, would be continued indefinitely at the request of the appellant; and that item 12b - Resolution accepting proposal for Special Assessment Proceedings-Valley Business Park Assessment District, related to the above item, should be removed from the agenda. Mr. Walker requested that an item be added to the agenda as item 13b - Mitiga- tion Measure Agreements with Reynolds and Brown, and Kaiser/Permanente. CONSENT CALENDAR It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar be approved: a. Approval of City Council Minutes for November 24, 1981. b. Adoption of Ordinance No. 1008, approving the application of the City of Pleasanton for amendments to the zoning ordinance pertaining to parking requirements and development standards for small, multi-family residential rental units in the downtown area.
