2.21 <br /> <br /> Councilmember Butler stated that Council has allowed other properties to be <br /> annexed to the City, i.e., Stanley Boulevard, and he felt this single property <br /> owner's request for annexation would not create a degradation to the life style <br /> " of the surrounding area. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer stated that after further consideration and after hearing the <br /> public input at this meeting, he felt the line had to be drawn somewhere on'any <br /> additional annexations in this area and, in his opinion, the City should not annex <br /> any more property in the Happy Valley area at this time. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, in- <br /> structing staff not to proceed any further regarding annexation proceedings, and not <br /> to adopt a resolution making application to LAFCO= or to initiate prezontng related <br /> to the application of J. D. He. stated that Mr. Daggett had withdrawn his request for annexation <br /> this date by telephone to the City Managerts office. <br /> <br /> Dr. D. Glafkides, President of the Alisal Improvement Club, stated this group <br /> - opposes this annexation for the same reasons as stated on the previous item. <br /> <br /> Ms. Dartill Huron voiced the same objections. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Mohr, and seconded by Mayor <br /> Mercer, instructing staff not to proceed any further regarding the application for <br /> annexation of Gary Van Wegen, for 3.4 acres at 488 Sycamore Road, because the pro- <br /> posal is not in keeping with LAFCO policy against the creation of Vislands". <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> ABSTAINED:Councilmember Kephart <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer recessed the meeting at 9:30 P.M. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer reconvened the meeting at 9:35 P.M. <br /> <br /> Report on Request for Ann@xation~ Lund Ranch (250 Acres East of Juntpero S~reet) <br /> Mr. Warnick presented his report (SR 81:369) dated October 20, 1981, regarding <br /> this matter. <br /> <br /> Vic Lund, P. O. Box 458, Pleasanton, stated that in the master plan for the <br /> property, 100 acres are shown for development but not all at one time with the <br /> other 150 acres to remain as open space. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mohr expressed concern regarding the total size of the parcel <br /> and stated she would feel more comfortable with annexing only the 57 acres pro- <br /> posed for the first phase of development. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Wood stated that because of the amount of open space allocated <br /> in this annexation application, he could support the request. <br /> <br /> 9. 10/27/81 <br /> <br /> <br />
