First Street between Angela Street and a point approximately 350 feet north of 'Neal <br /> Street from C-C (Central Commercial) to PUD (Planned Unit Development-Park) District, <br /> the property is zoned C-C (Central Commercial) and 0 (Office) District. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer stated he felt there is too much building on the area proposed and <br /> not enough parking and landscaping, and that he is not in favor of the proposal be- <br /> cause of density. He suggested that the public hearing be continued so that Southern <br /> Pacific could redesign the project in order to come up with a better and more accept- <br /> able plan. He added he would like to see the parks retained and also more parking <br /> space added. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Kephart stated he is concerned about the existing vacancy rate of <br /> office buildings in the downtown area and felt that additional office space is not <br /> needed at this time. He stated he also has concerns about parking and traffic pro- <br /> blems, thereforehe could not support this project. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Kephart, and seconded by Mayor <br /> Mercer, that Resolution No. 81-278, denying without prejudice the application of <br /> Southern Pacific Transportation Company for development plan approval of an approxi- <br /> mately 80,000 sq. ft. commercial/office development to be located between First Street <br /> and the SPRR right-of-way from Angela Street to the extension of Bernal Avenue and <br /> between Neal Street, Angela Street, the SPRR right-of-way and a line approximately <br /> 250 feet east of Main Street, and rezoning of the site to PUD-Commercial/Offices, also <br /> to fezone the Delucchi and Wayside Parks located on the west side of First Street be- <br /> tween Angela Street and a point approx{mstely 350 feet north of Neal Street from C-C <br /> (Central Commercial) to PUD (Planned Unit Development-Park) District, the property <br /> is zoned C-C (Central Commercial) and O (Office) District, be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> ~pplication of the City of Pleasanton to prozone approximatelX nine acres to an <br /> R-I-20,000 (ReSidential-Single Family) District, or any other zoning district con- <br /> sistent with the GeneFa~ P!an~ located .on the east side of Amber Lane, approxi- <br /> .mately 415 feet south of the intersection of Mockin~bird Lane and Amber Lane <br /> <br /> On the basis o~ an Initial..Study of the potential environmental impacts of the <br /> pro3ect,. t.h~ Director of Plannin~. and Communi~t/z Development has determined that <br /> the proposed project would not have any potenti4 significant adverse effects on <br /> the environment and that an environmental impact'.~eport need not be prepared.
