The property.~s <br />zoned "PUD-Commercial/Office) <br /> <br />On the basis of an Initial Study of the potential environmental impacts of the <br />proj?ct, the Director of Planning and Community Development has determined that <br />the proposed project would have potential significant adverse effects on the en- <br />vironment but that certain recommended conditions of a?proval would reduce those <br />impacts to an insignificant level and, therefq~e, that an environmental impact <br />report need not be prepared. This Initial Study is available for review at the <br />Planning Diviston,,...200 Bernal Avenue, Pl,eas~nton. Comments on this decision may <br />be directed either to the Plan~ip8 staff prior to the above meeting, oE.~irect~y <br />to the City Council at the above noticed meeting <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report (SR 81:254) dated July 20, 1981, regarding this <br />matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open on the application and the mitigated <br />negative declaration. <br /> <br /> Mr. Bill Christensen, 7979 Hillsboro Court, stated he had concerns about the <br />bike path as it goes and ends nowhere. He requested that the bike lane not be con- <br />structed until it could be completed in an orderly fashion on Foothill Road. Mayor <br />Mercer asked if in lieu fees could be accepted instead of development of a bike path <br />at this time. Mr. Warnick advised this could be done. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing closed <br />on the application and the mitigated negative declaration. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, that <br />Resolution No. 81-240, determining on the basis of a review of initial environmental <br />study done for this project, that no significant environmental impact would occur as <br />outlined in the City's guidelines and that a mitigated negative declaration is appro- <br />priate for development plan approval which would allow the construction of a 48,000 <br />sq. ft. two-story office building to be located at the southeast corner of Stoneridge <br />Drive and Foothill Road, the property is zoned "PUD-Commercial/Office", be adopted. <br />The roll call vo~e was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember,Kephart <br /> <br /> After discussion regarding various conditions, it was moved by Councilmember Wood, <br />and seconded by Councilmember Butler, that Ordinance No. 986, to be read by title <br />only and waiving further reading thereof, approving the application of M.A.I. Indus- <br />tries, Inc., for development plan approval which would allow the construction of a <br />48,000 sq. ft. two-story office building to be located at the southeast corner of <br />Stoneridge Drive and Foothill Road, the property is zoned "PUD-Commercial/Office, <br />subject to conditions established in the staff report to the Planning Commission <br />dated July 15, 1981, but modifying Condition No. 30 to require payment of the eight <br />foot wide bike-pedestrian path along Foothill Road at this time rather than construc- <br />tion of this feature, in an amount determined by the City Engineer, be introduced. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Kephart <br /> <br /> 3. 7/28/81 <br /> <br /> <br />
