Councilmember Kephart expressed concern regarding the increasing number of in- mates escaping from Santa Rita prison. It was moved by Councilmember Kephart, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, to lobby Supervisor Don Excell to support con- struction of a 400-500 bed facility in Hayward rather than a smaller one, to relieve the crowded conditions at Santa Rite Jail. After discussion, Council determined to meet with the Park and Recreation Commission on August 26, 1981, 7:30 p.m. MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC Mr. 3udd 'Hull, 144i 'Greenwood Road, requested that the names of Councilmembers and City staff be placed on the agendas in the order of their seating, for public information. Mr. Chuck Weidel, representing Southern Alameda County Board of Realtors, pre- sented to the Council a copy of the report of the California Association of Realtors relative to Housing. He stated this group is willing to work with the City in this problem area. Mr. Leo Heckathorn, 4202 Stanley Boulevard, stated there is still excessive dirt around the Tam Shopping Center on Hopyard Road at Valley Avenue. Mayor Mercer in- structed staff to investigate this matter. Mr. Heckathorn requested that the speed limit signs on Stanley Boulevard be make more clearly viaable.
