Allen <br /> Mr. Warnick presented his report (SR 82:183) dated May 18, 1982, regarding this <br />matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, that <br />Resolution No. 82-169, authorizing purchase of property from Frank T. and Florence G. <br />Allen to provide right-of-way for Pico Avenue Extension and authorizing the City Man- <br />ager to execute the Certificate of Acceptance of Real Property, authorizing the Grant <br />Deed to be recorded with the Alameda County Recorder, authorizing staff to deposit <br />$60,000.00 into escrow for the purchase of said property, and authorizing the Mayor <br />and City Clerk to execute the Real Property Purchase Contract, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Butler <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Approval of Plans and Agreement for Improvement of Hopyard Road from West Las Positas <br />pp.ulevard to .Valley Avenue <br /> Mr. Warnick presented his report (SR 82:182) dated May 7, 1982, regarding this <br />matter. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes stated he was concerned that another traffic signal on Hop- <br />yard Road would slow down the traffic flow and he felt it was not necessary for the <br />Valley Trails development to have another signalized entrance and exit. Mr. Warnick <br />explained that a new computerized signal control will assure even flow of traffic and <br />that the island at Hopyard and Valley Avenue will be realigned to ease traffic con- <br />gestion. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer stated that with the new residential development on the <br />eastern side of Hopyard Road and the traffic flow into the Youth Sports Park, he <br />felt that a traffic signal at this location is necessary. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, that <br />Resolution No. 82-170, approving plans and a street improvement agreement between the <br />City of Pleasanton and Prudential Insurance Company of America for improvement of Hop- <br />yard Road from West Las Positas Boulevard to Valley Avenue, and authorizing the <br />appropriate City officials to execute the agreement, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Butler <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Consideration of Petitions for North Pleasanton Assessment District (Freeway and <br />Roadway Improvements) <br /> Mr. Warnick presented his report (SR 82:190) dated May 20, 1982, regarding this <br />matter, and stating that the property owners of 72% of the described land have signed <br />the petition. <br /> <br /> Mr. Robert Brunsell, representing Sturgis, Ness, Brunsell and Sperry, legal con- <br />sultants, reviewed the actions necessary to form the assessment district. <br /> <br /> 7. 5/25/82 <br /> <br /> <br />
