401 <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mohr stated she was pleased with both projects and would like to <br />accommodate both of them. She suggested increasing the total units to be allowed <br />under the affordable housing competition. Councilmember Mercer stated that the 200 <br />unit total had been established by the Chamber of Commerce Task Force Committee on <br />Housing and he did not feel that Council should change that number. Mayor Butler <br />concurred. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Wood stated he felt there were problems regarding traffic impact <br />associated with the Valley Plaza Apartments. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer stated he favored Amador Meadows because it was planned as <br />an affordable housing project and qualifies as such. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes stated he would support the Valley Plaza Apartment pro- <br />ject because of the need for apartment housing in Pleasanton in a short time. <br /> <br /> Mayor Butler stated he favored the Valley Plaza Apartment project because of <br />the need for this type of housing and because he felt it is more affordable than <br />purchase of the Homestead units. <br /> <br /> After further discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Mercer, that Resolution No. 82-159, awarding the affordable housing <br />competition to "Amador Meadows", CPK Associates, Homestead Development Company, and <br />instructing staff to prepare the appropriate agreements, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Mercer, Mohr, and Wood <br />NOES: Councilmember Brandes and Mayor Butler <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes requested that a strict time schedule, with loss of <br />approval should the schedule not be met, be included in the agreements as well <br />as proof of financial commitment. <br /> <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> Mayor Butler presented the Information Report of the Director of Public Works <br />and Utilities (IR 82:14) dated May 5, 1982, transmitting the minutes from the Staff <br />Traffic Committee meeting of April 21, 1982. No action was required or taken by <br />Council on this item. <br /> <br /> Mayor Butler presented the City Council Agenda Planning Report for the months <br />of May, June, and July, for the information of the Council. <br /> <br />Amador Auditorium <br /> Mrs. Bengtson presented her report (SR 82:174) dated May 11, 1982, regarding <br />this matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, that <br />Resolution No. 82-160, directing staff to enter into negotiations with Amador Joint <br />School District to develop a joint powers agreement for the administration of <br />the Amador Auditorium to be effective after renovation or after it has been deter- <br />mined that the facilities meets all City requirements; directing staff to enter into <br />negotiations with the Amador Joint School District and Pleasanton Cultural Arts <br />Council to develop an agreement for management of the Amador Auditorium; supporting <br />community effort directed toward renovating the Amador Auditorium; and supporting <br />community effort directed toward broader community use of the Amador Auditorium, be <br />adopted. <br /> <br /> 14. 5/11/82 <br /> <br /> <br />
