Council <br /> at the above noticed meeting <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open on this item, and continued to the <br /> meeting of March 23, 1982, 8:00 P.M., Pleasanton Council Chambers, at the request of <br /> staff. <br /> <br /> MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br /> Adoption of ordinance ~o.. 1016.~ approving the application of. the ~it~ of Pleasanton <br /> to prezone two parcels totallin~ 14.5 acres in the vicinity of 2820 Vineyard Avenue <br /> (eastern terminus of Chardonnay Drive) to PUD'(Planned Unit pevelopment) Residential <br /> District <br /> (Intro. 1-12-82~ 5-Ayes) <br /> (Contd. from 1-26-82~ 2-9-82~ and 2-23-82) <br /> Mayor Mercer stated that Ordinance No. 1016 was introduced on January 12, 1982, <br /> by a vote of 5-Ayes, and had been continued from 1-26-82, 2-9-82, and 2-23-82, and <br /> that it was now in order to adopt the ordinance. <br /> <br /> Mr. William Hirst, Attorney representing Mrs. Matilda Teixeira, stated that Mrs. <br /> Teixeira had filed the application to prezone to medium density to be consistent with <br /> the General Plan. The General Plan once provided that the entire 14 acres was general <br /> planned medium density residential. In 1976 half of the property was shown as low <br /> density and the other half as medium density. Mrs. Teixeira then applied for and <br /> staff recommended a Planned Unit Development zoning with straight residential overlay; <br /> staff feeling that this sort of zoning would allow City control over the density that <br /> might be generated for the entire site. With this sort of zoning the City could re- <br /> quite a density on the portion of the site shown as medium density as low as 1~ <br /> dwelling units per acre and even lower density on the other portion.
