<br />Appointment of Pleasanton Housing Authority Board Member
<br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, that
<br />Resolution No. 82-45, reappointing Donna Graves as a member on the Pleasanton Housing
<br />Authority Board for a term of four years, said term to expire February 1, 1986, be
<br />adopted.

<br /> Mayor Mercer stated that Michael Nieto, a Pleasanton student, had been selected
<br />to the Parade Magazine 1981 All-American High School Soccer Team, and he felt Council
<br />should give special recognition to this young man for his outstanding accomplishment.
<br />It was moved by Mayor Mercer, and seconded by Cohncilmember Wood, that Resolution No.
<br />82-46, commending Michael Nieto, 1951 Foxswallow Circle, for his selection on the
<br />Parade Magazine 1981 All-American High School Soccer Team, be adopted.

<br /> Mayor Mercer requested that a resolution of thanks be presented to Senator John
<br />Holmdahl, who has now been appointed to a Judge's position. It was moved by Mayor
<br />Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, that Resolution No. 82-47, commending
<br />the Honorable John ~olmdahl on his accomplishments as a Senator, and congratulating
<br />him on his appointment as a Judge, be adopted.

<br /> Mayor Mercer stated that this would be the last City Council meeting held in
<br />the Fairgrounds Cafeteria. He advised the public that Proposition 13 had necessi-
<br />tated the use of the building for Council meetings but that recently a non-profit
<br />organization had raised funds for the construction of Council Chambers on the Civic
<br />Center site at 200 Bernal Avenue. Mayor Mercer thanked the Fair Board for allowing
<br />the City to use the Cafeteria at a very nominal lease rate, and he expressed appre-
<br />ciation to the non-profit group for their accomplishment in construction of the new
<br />building. Mayor Mercer stated the City Council meeting of February 23, 1982, will
<br />be held at the new location.
<br />
<br /> Mayor Mercer advised that Harvey Levine, City Attorney, would be leaving City
<br />employment on February 12, 1982, to accept a position with the City of San Jose.
<br />Mayor Mercer presented a plaque to Mr. Levine, and expressed the Council's appre-
<br />ciation for his service to the City.
