349 <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />Actions Taken by the Design Review Board and Planning Commission at <br />Their Meeting of November 10, 1982 <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report (SR 82:456) dated November 15, 1982, regarding <br />this matter for the information of the Council. No action was required or taken <br />by Council on this item. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />Proposed Removal of Two-Hour Parking on Santa Rita Frontage Road and <br />Jensen Street <br /> Mr. Warnick presented his report (SR 82:435) dated November 3, 1982, <br />regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Bonnie Ruocco, 1074 Santa Rita Road, spoke in favor of removing <br />the two-hour parking limitation stating that since the area was made off limits <br />to the students there is no problem and only the residents are the ones receiving <br />tickets for parking in front of their own homes. <br /> <br /> Mr. Robert Philcox, 2411 Crestline, spoke on behalf of his inlaws who <br />life on Jensen and are opposed to removal of the signs. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Brandes to deny the <br />request to remove the two-hour parking limitations. Councilmember Wood seconded <br />but later withdrew his second and the motion died. <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Brandes, <br />that the two hour parking limit on Santa Rita Road be removed for six months, <br />but that the two hour parking limit remain on Jensen Street; Resolution No. 82-471. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, Wood and Mayor Butler <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Report on Disconnected Street Lights <br />Mr. Walker presented his report (SR 82:460) dated November 18, 1982, <br />regarding this matter. There was discussion about the removal of the poles <br />and it was felt that there is too much uncertainty at this time to allow the <br />removal of poles which may be used in the near future. There was also some <br />discussion regarding use of future revenues from commercial development and <br />how some of this could be used to turn on street lights. It was also felt <br />that residents near the poles proposed to be removed should be notified <br />in case they chose to have these lights turned back on. <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember <br />Brandes, to adopt staff recommendation #3 directing staff to discuss further <br />alternatives with PG&E and adding a direction to staff to advise neighbors <br />around poles of possible removal. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, Wood and Mayor Butler <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Adoption of Resolution Requesting th~ City of Pleasanton be Designated as <br />an "Eligible Recipient for Transportation Development Act Article 4 Funds" <br />(Re: Valley Wide Transit Study) <br /> Mr. Miller presented his report (SR 82:468) dated November 16, 1982, <br />regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> 10. 11/23/82 <br /> <br /> <br />
