Mr. Dave Poole, 4117 Hazelhurst Court, stated he lives just across the street <br /> from the area being reviewed but had not been notified of any meeting regarding <br /> this issue. He stated he has concerns about traffic on Mohr Avenue as there are <br /> already many problems on this street. He stated he did not feel it is fair to add <br /> traffic to this street to profit developers. <br /> <br /> Mr. Martin Inderbitzen, 4102 Fairlands Drive, representing Mr. Robert Molinaro, <br />stated that Mr. Molinaro is opposed to Trenery Drive being made a through street <br />and would like to have the opportunity to review any street plans before a decision <br />is made. <br /> <br /> Mr. John Montgomery stated he supports the presentation made by Mr. Weimken; <br />and that he does not favor changing the general plan, is opposed to any additional <br />annexation and development, and is opposed to the extension of Trenery Drive to <br />Santa Rita Road. He stated he supports the proposed Kamp development and street <br />patterns. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jim Fezarri, 3710 Trenery Drive, stated he is opposed to Trenery Drive <br />being opened up to access from Santa Rita Road. He stated the area should remain <br />low density and that he could support the proposed Wagerman development if density <br />is keptlow and the homes are done in good taste. Mr. Fezarri stated he is opposed <br />to the suggestion of a locked gate at the end of the proposed cul-de-sac on Trenery <br />Drive, stating he felt that emergency vehicles would get through faster going other <br />routes. Councilmember Brandes asked if residents in the area would consider main- <br />taining a private road. Mr. Fezarri advised they maintain the road now. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jim Foley, 4125 Hazelhurst Court, stated his residence is across the street <br />from the proposed future development. He stated there is car-racing on Mohr Avenue <br />now and he is concerned about what will happen to Mohr if additional development <br />goes in. He requested that a traffic study be made on this street. <br /> <br /> Mr. John Corley, Trenery Drive, stated that Mohr Avenue has always been a race- <br />way. He stated he concurred with the staff report and would rely on Council, Plan- <br />ning Commission and staff to work out what they felt was in the best interest of the <br />City for further development and street circulation in this area. He stated he is <br />concerned about fire protection to this area. He concluded by stating he supports <br />the Wagerman PUD low density development and felt that most of the heritage trees <br />could be preserved. <br /> <br /> Mr. Weimken urged Council to look at the overall general effect when considering <br />development and street patterns in the Mohr/Martin area. <br /> <br /> There being no further comments from the public, Mayor Butler asked for comments <br />by Council and Planning Commission. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer stated he favors making Trenery Drive a cul-de-sac and <br />slightly altering the proposed street through the Thorpe property to tie in closer <br />to the four long lots adjacent to this property. He stated he felt Council should <br />establish ground rules for further development of this area but allow any developer <br />to design the development in a unique manner, for Council approval. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mohr stated she felt that further alternatives regarding Trenery <br />Drive should be reviewed. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes stated his prime concern in this area is the possibility of <br />it being developed in a "chopped-up" effect. He stated this is a very unique area <br />and should be developed in a creative style and with unique street patterns.
