Advisory Council <br /> Mrs. Charlotte Severin addressed the Council regarding the Citizens Cable T.V. <br /> Advisory Council report indicating that Viacom had complied with the terms of the <br /> agreement and it was in order to approve their requested rate increase. She also <br /> indicated she had been told that a small adjustment to the cablevision channel <br /> selector box would allow receipt of Escapade without subscribing to it. She indi- <br /> cated this should be investigated to see if it could be controlled from outside the <br /> home to invalidate any tampering. Councilmember Wood commended Mrs. Severin for <br /> her work in this regard. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Wood indicated that Rhodes-Jamieson has a proposal for a recrea- <br /> tional fishing operation by Silver King Oceanic which is going to the Planning <br /> Commission tomorrow. He expressed concern over traffic which would be generated. <br /> <br /> MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> Mr. Ken Sauers, 2573 Secretariat Drive, spoke to the Council regarding the <br /> varying speed limits on Hopyard Road. He felt it should be 25 MPH from 8:00 a.m. <br /> to 4:30 p.m., and back to 45 MPH after 4:30 p.m., not changed frequently during the <br /> day. Council then discussed what could be done about this and the reasoning for <br /> changing the speed limit. Chief Eastman indicated that citations had only been <br /> issued for flagrant violations of the speed limit and that most citations had been <br /> courtesy or Warning tickets. <br /> <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />Application of the City of Pleasanton to rezone approximately 13 acres of land <br />located on the south side of Bernal Avenue extension between the eastern side of <br />the right-of-wa~y of the Western Pacific Railroad Company and the eastern side of <br />the riSht7of-waX of the Southern Pacific Transportation Company from the "O" <br />(Office) and "I-P" (Industrial Park) District and to prezone approximately 16 <br />acres adjacent and to the south for a total of approximately 29 acres to the PUD <br />(Planned Unit Development)-Hi~h Density Residential District or to any other <br />zoning consistent with the General Plan <br /> <br />On the basis of an Initial Study of the potential environmental impacts of the <br />project, the Director of Plannin~ and Community Development has determined that <br />the proposed: project would not have any potential significant adverse effects on <br />the environment and that an environmental impact report need not be prepared. <br />This Initial Study is available for review at the Planning Division~ 200 Bernal <br />Avenue~ Pleasanton. Comments on this decision may be directed either to the <br />planning staff prior to the above meeting~ or directly to the City Council at <br />the above noticed meeting <br />(Contd. Open from 6-22-82) <br /> Mayor Butler declared the public hearing continued open on this item to the <br />meeting of July 27, 1982, 8:00 P.M., Pleasanton Council Chambers, at the request <br />of the Roman Catholic Church of Oakland. <br /> <br />Application of Jay Johansen to convert six rental dwellings to condominiums at <br />4375 Fairlands Drive (near the northwest corner of Fairlands Drive and West Las <br />Positas Boulevard) <br /> Mr. William Hirst, Attorney representing the applicant, addressed Council and <br />indicated ~the application is being withdrawn. <br /> <br /> MayOr Butler declared the item withdrawn from the agenda at the request of the <br />applicant. <br /> <br /> 4. 7/13/82 <br /> <br /> <br />
