The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Butler NOES; Councilmembers Brandes and Mohr ABSENT: None Application of Murray School District to amend the general plan land use designation on an approximately ~1.9 acre site located on the north side of Muirwood Drive between Springdale Avenue and Forest Hill Drive from Schools to Medium Den.sity Residential Consider Adoption of Negative Declaration Mr. Harris presented his report (SR 83:536) dated November 28, 1983, regarding this matter. Mayor Butler declared the public hearing open on the application and the negative declaration. Mr. Gary Gilmore, attorney representing the Murray School District, stated he con- curred with the staff report and Planning Commission recommendation. He stated the School District desparately needs the money from this land sale to use for upkeep of the school facilities. Mr. Jack Hovingh, 4250 Muirwood Drive, stated he favored this change and also the one recommended for the Pleasanton School District (the following item on the agenda), adding that the City needs all available land for housing. No one in the audience spoke in opposition to this item. There being no further testimony, Mayor Butler declared the public hearing closed on the application and the negative declaration. It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, that Resolution No. 83-544, determining on the basis of a review of initial environmental study done for this project, that no significant environmental impact would occur as outlined in the City's guidelines and that a negative declaration is appropriate to approve the application of Murray School District to amend the general plan land use designation on an approximately 11.9 acre site located on the north side of Muirwood Drive between Springdale Avenue and Forest Hill Drive from Schools to Medium Density Residential, be adopted.
