103 <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> August 9, 1983 <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Robert Butler called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at <br /> 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the Poll which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers Brandes, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Butler were present. Councilmember <br />Mercer was absent. Mr. Walker, City Manager, Mr. Swift, Assistant City Attorney, <br />Mr. Warnick, Director of Public Works and Utilities, Mr. Harris Director of Plan- <br />ning and Community Development, and Mrs. Bengtson, Director of Recreation and Human <br />Resources, were present. <br /> <br /> AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Walker advised Council of three minor modifications to reports listed on the <br />Consent Calendar. <br /> <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, that the <br />following items listed on the Consent Calendar~ as amended thereto, be approved: <br /> <br /> a. Approval of City Council Minutes for 7-19-83 and 7-26-83. Councilmember Brandes <br /> abstained from voting on this item due to his absence from these meetihgs. <br /> <br />b. Adoption of Resolution No. 83-321, approval renewal of contract with Cooperative <br /> Personnel Services, an agency of the State Personnel Board for the City's employ- <br /> ment tests, for an additional three years, and authorizing execution of the con- <br /> tract by the appropriate city officials. <br /> <br /> c. Adoption of Resolution No. 83-322, authorizing the city manager to sign the <br /> assumption of liability statement and workers compensation certificate required <br /> of agencies wishing to participate in Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory <br /> Technical Volunteer Service Program. <br /> <br />d. Adoption of Resolution No. 83-323, confirming cost accounting report for the <br /> Weed Abatement Program 1983; and following confirmation, the costs of the abate- <br /> ment will be deemed by law to constitute a special assessment against and a lien <br /> upon the parcel of property and will be added by the Treasurer-Tax Collector to <br /> the next regular tax bill for each parcel. <br /> <br />e. Introduce Ordinance No. 1097, to be read by title only and waiving further <br /> reading thereof, establishing the speed limit on Division Street between Del <br /> Valle Parkway to St. Marys Street, at 30 M.P.H. <br /> <br />f. Adoption of Resolution No. 83-324, accepting Project No. 83-5, sidewalk repair <br /> on various city streets, approving final payment to Andero Construction, P. O. <br /> Box 7424, San Jose, in the amount of $8,433.39, and authorizing that the Notice <br /> of Completion by filed by the City Attorney's office. <br /> <br /> <br />
