MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> May 10, 1983 <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Robert Butler called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at <br />8:00 P.M., and then introduced Girl Scout Troup 452 from Valley View School, who were <br />visiting the City Council meeting tonight. He invited two of the Girl Scouts to lead <br />in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Mayor Butler stated that Council had pre- <br />viously proclaimed May as Deaf Awareness Month in Pleasanton and he asked Ms. Jacquie <br />Oliverius to do the Pledge to the flag in sign language. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Butler were present. Mr. <br />Walker, City Manager, Mr. MacDonald, City Attorney, Mr. Warnick, Director of Public <br />Works and Utilities, Mr. Harris, Director of Planning and Community Development, Mr. <br />Eastman, Police Chief, Mr. Hill, Fire Chief, Mr. Klenk, Fire Marshal, Mr. Miller, <br />Assistant to the City Manager, and Mrs. Bengtson, Director of Recreation and Human <br />Resources, were present. <br /> <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Walker requested that an item be added to the agenda as 41 - Sister City <br />Program. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker requested that an item be added as 13c - Amendment to Agreement with <br />the County of Alameda relative to Work Furlough Program. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker advised that a letter had been received this date from Mr. Glenn Kier- <br />stead requesting that item 8a - Application of Meadow Plaza Associates for PUD (Planned <br />Unit Development) zoning and development plan approval for a 126 unit multi-family <br />residential complex on an approximately six acre site located east of the Exxon Sta- <br />tion at the southeast corner of West Las Positas Boulevard and Santa Rita Road, be <br />continued indefinitely. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker advised there would be an Executive Session held at the conclusion of <br />this meeting to discuss pendin~ litigation. <br /> <br /> Mayor Butler requested that the Minutes for the City Council meeting of April 26, <br />1983, be corrected on page 2 to show Councilmember Mercer's term as Vice Mayor ending <br />April 1984. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer requested that Item 14a - Communication from Amador-Livermore <br />Valley Historical Society regarding use of the Old Police Building, be heard after <br />item 8b on the agenda. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, that <br />the following items listed on the Consent Calendar, as amended thereto, be approved: <br /> <br />a. Approval of City Council Minutes for 4-26-83, as corrected. <br /> <br /> <br />
