Adoption of Resolution No. 83-150, declaring weeds, rubbish and refuse upon or' <br /> in front of certain described properties within the City of Pleasanton constitute <br /> public nuisances and that the same shall be abated, and setting a public hearing <br /> in regard to the same to be held in the Pleasanton Council Chambers, 200 Bernal <br /> Avenue, Pleasanton, at 8:00 P.M., on May 10, 1983. <br /> <br />k. Adoption of Resolution No. 83-151, approving Claims for the month of March, 1983, <br /> in the amount of $804,274.80. <br /> <br />1. Adoption of Resolution No. 83-152, approving two agreements between the Metropo- <br /> litan Transporation Commission and the City of Pleasanton to provide a portion of <br /> the funding necessary to conduct the Pleasanton/Dublin Transit Study; the first <br /> agreement (CA-09-0110) provides $20,000 in Federal Urban Mass Transportation Admin- <br /> istration (UMTA) funds to conduct Phase I of the transit study and the second <br /> agreement (CA-09-0140) provides $9,000 in UMTA monies to fund a portion of Phase <br /> II of the transit study; and authorizing the appropriate city officials to execute <br /> the agreements. <br /> <br />m. Adoption of Resolution No. 83-153, approving the solids handling and disposal <br /> facilities and flow equalization/emergency storage facilities at the Dublin San <br /> Ramon Services District Regional Waste Water Treatment Plant. <br /> <br />n. Adoption of Resolution No. 83-154, declaring the results of the April 19, 1983 <br /> Special Election regarding the Quail Creek Project. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Butler <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes abstained from voting on approval of the City Council <br />Minutes for 4-12-83, due to his absence from that meeting. <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCILMEMBERS <br />Reorganization of City Council <br /> Councilmember Mercer stated he knew what a privilege it is to be Mayor and also <br />how much responsibility is associated with it. He stated there is an advantage in <br />being elected Mayor for a consecutive period of two years and he felt that Mayor <br />Butler had done a fine job this past year serving as Mayor. It was moved by Council- <br />member Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Brandes, that Resolution No. 83-155, <br />appointing Robert E. Butler as Mayor of the City of Pleasanton for a term of one <br />year, said term ending April 1984, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Butler <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Butler stated it has been a privilege to serve as Mayor for the last year; <br />it being a period when lots has happened in the City. He expressed appreciation for <br />the vote of confidence by Councilmembers and stated he would do the best job he could <br />serving the City for another year as Mayor. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mayor Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Brandes, that Resolu- <br />tion No. 83-156, appointing Kenneth R. Mercer as Vice Mayor of the City of Pleasanton <br />for a term of one year, said term ending April, 1984, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Butler <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> 2. 4/26/83 <br /> <br /> <br />
