435 <br /> <br /> REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br /> Report on Request for Annexation of Assessorts Parcel 946-1151-27 (3744 Trenery <br /> Drive) John P. Corley <br /> Mr. Warnick presented his report (SR 83:04) dated January 4, 1983, regarding <br /> this matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. John P. Corley, 3744 Trenery Drive, stated he desired to be annexed to the <br /> City, and felt his annexation might stimulate other property owners in the area to <br /> request annexation. <br /> <br /> Council discussion ensued regarding the possibility of other surrounding property <br />owners annexing at the same time as Mr. Corley, and access to the Corley property if <br />he is the only property owner to annex to the City. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Mayor Butler, to initiate <br />annexation prosnedings for five acres on the north side of Trenery Drive west of <br />Martin Avenue and owned by John P. Corley (3744 Trenery Drive). <br />The roll call vote as follows: <br />'AYES: Councilmember Brandes and Mayor Butler <br />NOES: Councilmembers Mercer and Mohr <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Wood <br /> <br /> The motion failed because of the tie vote. <br /> <br />Speed Zonin$ Recommendations - Johnson Drive and Peters Avenue <br /> Mr. Warnick presented his report (SR 83:03) dated January 5, 1983, regarding <br />this matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, that <br />Ordinance No. 1069, to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, <br />establishing the following speed limits: (1) Johnson Drive - Stoneridge Drive to 0.2 <br />mile northerly of Commerce Drive, be set at 35 MPH; and (2) Peters Avenue - Bernal <br />Avenue to St. John Street, be set at 25 MPH, be introduced. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, and Mayor Butler <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Wood <br /> <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> Mayor Butler presented the City Council Agenda Planning Report for the months <br />of January, February, and March, for the information of the Council. <br /> <br /> Mayor Butler presented the attendance reports of the Planning Commission, Park <br />and Recreation Commission, and Human Services Commission for the period July 1982 <br />through December 1982. Council instructed that letters of appreciation be sent to <br />each Commissioner commending them for their excellent attendance record. <br /> <br /> Mayor Butler presented the Information Report of the Director of Public Works <br />and Utilities (IR 83:1) dated December 20, 1982, transmitting the Minutes from the <br />Staff Traffic Committee Meeting of December 15, 1982. No action was required or <br />taken by Council on this item. <br /> <br /> Mayor Butler presented the Information Report of the City Manager (IR 83:02) dated <br />January 6, 1983, regarding appointments to various Boards and Commissions. Mr. Walker <br />stated that a letter had been received from Christine Pearson requesting that the two- <br />term limitation be waived in order to allow her to apply for a third term on the <br />Pleasanton Housing Authority Board.
