Adoption of Resolution No. 84-561, approving the parade application for the Statue <br /> of Liberty Foundation Parade on November 25, 1984; requiring the sponsor to comply <br /> with the conditions set forth in Section III of Staff Report 84:597; and amending <br /> the City's budget to include the $215.00 in city costs incurred by this event. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br /> NOES: Mayor Mercer on item 4p relating to the Master Planning for the Unnamed Park <br /> at Ta~my and Bernal Avenue <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCILMEMBERS <br /> Councilmember Butler stated he has received complaints regarding the left turn <br /> from Valley Trails onto Hopyard Road; the signal does not stay green long enough to <br /> allow traffic from Valley Trails to enter onto Hopyard Road. He requested staff to <br /> investigate this problem. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Butler stated there is a traffic problem on First Street at Kottinger <br /> Drive; there needs to be a "keep clear" marking on First Street tO allow Kottinger Driv~ <br /> traffic to enter onto First Street during peak hours. He stated there is also a large <br /> bush on the southeast corner of that intersection that needs to be trimmed because it is <br /> blocking the view of motorists. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mohr stated that in talking to the residents in the Parkside develop- <br /> ment, they would like to have some asphalt courts provided in the Sports Park to use as <br /> a neighborhood type facility. She requested staff and the Park and Recreation Commis- <br /> sion to investigate the possibility of providing this service. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mohr stated she has received complaints from Pleasanton Meadows resi- <br /> dents regarding the bike lane on Santa Rita Road crossing over to Pimlico and back to <br /> Santa Rita Road. Mr. Walker advised that because of the soundwall the bike path has to <br /> cross over, but that it will be remedied with the installation of the signalization. <br /> 4. 10/30/84 <br /> <br /> <br />
