283 <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, that <br />Ordinance No. 1149, to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, <br />approving RZ-84-8, application of the City of Pleasanton to prezone the approximately <br />8 acre site located on the north side of Vineyard Avenue opposite Mavis Drive to the <br />PUD (Planned Unit Development)-Medium Density Residential District, be re-introduced. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> The Negative Declaration in connection with this item was approved on August 14, <br />1984, by Resolution No. 84-415. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes requested staff to come back with a report proposing a <br />scope of study for the Vineyard Avenue area from First Street to Vintage Hills <br />relative to land use of the undeveloped area. Mayor Mercer asked staff to also <br />look at already-approved projects. Council concurred. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer instructed staff to send a copy of the proposed scope of review <br />report to Donna Graves, Frank Belecky, Chuck Muth, and any other interested residents. <br /> <br />RZ-83-8, Application of the City of Pleasanton to amend the provisions of the zoning <br />ordinance with respect to parking requirements in the Central Business District <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report (SR 84:520) dated September 25, 1984, regarding <br />this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open on this item. <br /> <br /> Ms. Judy Mayhew, 610 Main Street, Chairperson for the Do~.mtown Task Force Com- <br />mittee of the Chamber of Commerce, stated this committee has reviewed the staff re- <br />port and generally concur with the recommendations. <br /> <br /> Ms. Lori Scott-Venter, 210 Rose Avenue, representing the Board of Directors of <br />the Pleasanton Downtown Association, stated this group prefers the recommendations <br />as approved by the Planning Commission but concur with staff recommendations. <br /> <br /> The owner of Hacienda Del Sol, 625 Main Street, urged approval of the modifica- <br />tion, stating that it will allow him to add more seats to his restaurant. <br /> <br /> Mr. Robert Ernest, 233 Rose Avenue, stated he is in favor of the amendment as <br />proposed by the Planning Commission. He stated he would like to open a restaurant <br />in the downtown area, and the original parking ordinance would not allow him enough <br />seating to open his business, therefore he urged approval of the modification. <br /> <br /> Ms. Valetie Gay, owner of Gay 90vs Pizza on Main Street, stated she is in favor <br />of the modification, as it will allow her to expand her business. <br /> <br /> Ms. Peggy Despotakis, representing Despotakis Deti, asked if the amendment <br />applied only to old buildings or will it apply to new buildings.
