195 <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmembers Brandes and Butler <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCILMEMBERS <br /> Mayor Mercer presented a resolution adopted by Dublin City Council at their meet- <br />ing of August 2?, 1984, supporting the establishment of a National Cemetery at the <br />Camp Parks Facility in Alameda County, but opposing its location on the 1S0 acres <br />presently proposed by the Veterans Administration, which is directly across 1-580 from <br />Hacienda Business Park. Dublin City Council is requesting Pleasanton City Council to <br />take a similar position in this matter. It was moved by Mayor Mercer, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Mohr, that Resolution No. 84-439, regarding the establishment of a <br />National Cemetery at the Camp Parks Facility in Alameda County, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmembers Brandes and Butler <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> There were no City Council Committee Reports presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> Mr. Ed Paulonis, 2329 Greenwood Road, stated he moved into this residence five <br />years ago and that there was a mulberry tree between the island and the curb. He <br />advised that the tree had uprooted the sidewalk and that he had called City Hall to <br />get the problem resolved. He stated that someone came out and put blacktop to level <br />the sidewalk, but that it is now raised again. He stated that he again called City <br />Hall regarding this matter and was told by a City Engineer that the City could not <br />do anything about the problem for two or three years, and that he could go to a <br />Council meeting to appeal this matter. Mr. Paulonis asked what could be done now <br />to get this dangerous situation taken care of. He advised he is trying to sellhis <br />house and could not do so with the sidewalk in its present condition. Mr. Walker <br />advised that the City has a p~2ogram at this time to repair sidewalks, and that a <br />change order could be issued to repair the sidewalk in front of Mr. PaulonisT resi- <br />dence. After discussion, Mayor Mercer instructed staff to have the sidewalk at 2329 <br />Greenwood Road repaired as soon as possible. He stated there is a similar problem <br />on Northway Road, and requested this be repaired at the same time. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />PUD-81-30-18D, Application of Callahan-Pentz Properties for design reXjew approval <br />for a single story, approximately 70~200 s~. ft. office'buildin~on an approximately <br />five acre site located on the north side of West Las Positas Boulevard approximately <br />1150 feet east of the intersection of Hacienda Drive and West Las Positas Boulevard. <br />Zoning for the property is PUD (Planned Unit Development)-IndustrAal~ Commercial and <br />Offices District <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report (SR 84:460) dated August 22, 1984, regarding this <br />matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open on this item. <br /> <br /> Mr. Howard Sword, representing Callahan Pentz Properties, stated the project is <br />for AT&T offices. He described the structure as a tilt-up concrete design. He also <br />addressed the parking problems associated with this area, and stated that adequate <br />parking is provided for this proposed development. <br /> <br /> Mr. Steve Fee, Architect, elaborated on the structure and design, as well as the <br />landscaping plan. <br /> <br /> 3. 8/28/84 <br /> <br /> <br />
