He stated that fees are <br />dictated by State Law and the City cannot change those fees. He stated he felt the <br />program should be self-supporting. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mohr stated she wants protection for the residents of mobile home <br />parks, and suggested an ombudsman type rule for a 6-12 month period. <br /> <br /> After further discussion, Vice Mayor Brandes continued this matter for full Council <br />attendance, and instructed staff to prepare a report regarding the requirements for <br />City inspection of mobile home parks. <br /> <br />Work Furlough Program <br /> Mr. Walker presented his report (SR 84:253) dated May 3, 1984, regarding this <br />matter. He advised this program was brought to Council a year ago but was turned dovm <br />because of the liability risk involved, as the City would be liable for the workers <br />compensation. <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Brandes stated he felt the City should try this program as it has merit. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Wood stated he favored the hiring of additional staff, and he requested <br />this be considered at the budget hearings scheduled in the near future. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Councilmember <br />Mohr, not to participate in the work furlough program of the Alameda County Sheriff's <br />Department. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Mohr and Wood <br />NOES: Vice Mayor Brandes <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Butler and Mayor Mercer <br /> <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> <br />Minor Modification Case PUD-79-11, Cork Harbour <br /> Mr. Glenn presented the report of the Director of Planning and Community Development <br />(iR 84:30) dated April 26, 1984, regarding this matter.
