Mrs. Irene Bennington, 4957 Mohr, stated she is opposed to any access into th ~
quiet residential neighborhood. She advised that Council will find they guaranteed
there would be no access onto Sutter Gate as shown in the Minutes of Tapes of meetings
held in 1979 relative to this matter. She stated she is concerned that any access
could bring all traffic from the park through this neighborhood, which has been approxi-
mated at 3700 cars per day. She stated the Arroyo Mocho is an attractive nuisance and
she requested Council to investigate this problem.

Mr. Larry Bartelson, MacKay & Somps, representing Crocker Homes, the developer,
displayed a map showing the latest plan which is virtually the same one that was acted
upon in 1979, showing an emergency access on Sutter Gate. He stated this is the map
that the Citizens Committee agreed to go along with. He advised there would be no
through traffic at this access; only emergency equipment and a pedestrian walkway. He
stated that Crocker Homes feels the emergency access is important to the City of
Pleasanton, and that the original map was approved with the pedestrian access way. He
added that this map is the one to be considered for approval by City staff next week
as the preliminary tentative map.

After considerable discussion, Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing continued
open on this item to the meeting of May 8, 1984, 8:00 P.M., in the Pleasanton Council
Chambers; instructed staff to prepare a report on several alternatives for emergency
access as well as supplying background information regarding previous action taken on
this issue; and directing that another meeting be scheduled with the Citizens Committee
from this area, City staff, the developer, and Prudential, in an attempt to resolve the
concerns of the residents; and advising staff to proceed with the preliminary tentative
map consideration.

Application of Frank Auf der Maur for PUD (Planned Unit Deve!opment)-development plan
a_jDproval of an approximateAy 38 acre commercial business park consisting of 32 com-
mercial lots ran~ing in size ~om 0.5 to over 1.0 acre in size and related facilities
to be located at the eastern terminus of the Del Valle Parkway - southeast of the
intersection of Washington Street and Stanlgy Boulevard. He addressed the fencing construction, stating he planned to
install a precast concrete wall. He discussed the drainage problem on Vineyard Avenue
and stated improvements to his project should alleviate this matter. Mr. Baldacci

5. 4/24/84
