PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />Application of Vorelco of California~ Inc., and Integrated Storage Corporation for PUD <br />(Planned Unit Development) development plan approval for an approximately 70~000 s~. ft. <br />mini storage facility on an approximately 2.5 acre site located at the southeast corner <br />of Stoneridge Drive and 1-680. Zoning for the property is PUD (Planned Unit Development) <br />General and Limited Industrial District <br /> <br />Consider Adoption of Negative Declaration <br /> Mr. Glenn presented the report of the Director of Planning and Community Development <br />(SR 84:72) dated February 6, 1984, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Butler declared the public hearing open on the application and the negative <br />declaration. <br /> <br /> Mr. Leland W. Topham, President of Integrated Storage Corporation, Burlingame, pre- <br />sented displays showing the design of the building and the landscaping layout. He stated <br />he concurs with the staff report. <br /> <br /> No one'in the audience spoke in opposition to this item. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mayor Butler declared the public hearing closed on <br />the application and the negative declaration. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mohr expressed concern regarding the landscaping plan. She stated she <br />would prefer trees that will mature to a height that will exceed the height of the build- <br />ings. Mr. Topham stated he had been guided by staff as to the type of trees, and is <br />agreeable to plant whatever size and type tree that Council directs. Councilmember Mohr <br />asked about the landscaping plans for the rear of the building adjacent to the sewer pond. <br />Mr. Topham stated that he could not visualize anyone seeing the back side of the building <br />but he was willing to do whatever Council desires. Mr. Andy Mack, representing Bissell <br />and Karn, reviewed the easement and off-ramp landscaping. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes expressed concern regarding the type of roofing to be used, <br />stating he would prefer tile. Mr. Topham stated that tile roofing costs are prohibitive. <br />He stated that the metal roofing would be pre-cast and will be a weathered copper color. <br />Councilmember Brandes also expressed concern regarding the density of the project, stat- <br />ing that he feels it is much too high. Mr. Topham stated that the type of facility being <br />proposed will not generate any significant adverse impacts such as traffic. He added <br />that the footprint coverage is 42%. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Brandes, that <br />Resolution No. 84-69, determining on the basis of a review of initial environmental <br />study done for this project, that no significant environmental impact would occur as <br />outlined in the City's guidelines and that a negative declaration is appropriate in <br />connection with the application of Vorelco of California, Inc., and Integrated Storage <br />Corporation for PUD (Planned Unit Development) development plan approval for an approxi- <br />mately 70,000 sq. ft. mini s~orage facility on an approximately 2.5 acre site located at <br />the southeast corner of Stoneridge Drive and 1-680, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Butler <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Mohr, and seconded by Council- <br />member Mercer, that Ordinance No. 1125, to be read by title only and waiving further <br />reading thereof, approving the application of Vorelco of California, Inc., and Inte- <br />grated Storage Corporation for PUD (Planned Unit Development) development plan approval <br />for an approximately 70,000 sq. ft. mini storage facility on an approximately 2.5 acre <br /> <br /> 7. 2/14/84 <br /> <br /> <br />
