Mr. MacDonald
submitted the following alternate wording for the ballot measure:

Alternative One
MEASURE A: Shall Resolution No. 83-501 of the City Council which amends the
Growth Management Element of the Pleasanton General Plan be affirmed?

Alternative Two
(from Staff Report)
MEASURE A: Shall Resolution No. 83-501 of the City Council which provides
that the Growth Management Element of the Pleasanton General Plan permits
Hacienda Business Park (PUD-81-30) be affirmed?

Alternative Three
MEASURE A: Shall Resolution No. 83-501 of the City Council (which provides
that the Pleasanton General Plan permits Hacienda Business Park ~PUD-81-30~
and the commercial/office industrial projects already approved as of May 1983)
be affirmed?

Mr. MacDonald stated that Mr. Pearson, proponent of the referendum, expressed
a desire that all 22 commercial projects be listed in the ballot wording. Mr. Mac-
Donald stated he did not feel this is necessary.

Mayor Butler opened the meeting for public testimony.

Mr. Curt A!tschul, 6324 Calle Altamira, stated he felt a simple statement relat-
ing to balanced growth of the general plan is sufficient for the ballot wording as
all information will be contained in ~he voter pamphlet, with arguments both for and
against the issue and the development involved. He favored alternative one as the
best choice for the ballot measure.

3. 1/9/84
