Mr. Mike Harris, representing Pleasanton Housing Group, Inc., stated this <br /> group has met with City staff to review the report, and they support the <br /> recommendations as presented. <br />~ Council discussion ensued regarding the best possible project for senior <br />~'~ citizens, rent levels, public versus private control of the project, type of <br />~ units and size. Mr. Harris stated that all of the concerns can be addressed <br />LI=[ as the project goes along; the main thrust now is to get it started. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember But- <br /> ler, that Resolution No. 85-303, approving the characteristics of the proposed <br /> 220-unit senior citizen project and instructing staff to negotiate a contract <br /> (to be approved by Council) for project design services with the firm of Har- <br /> dison, Komatsu, Ivelich & Tucker, be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Brandesm Butler, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Review and Approval of the Preliminary Master Plan for Valley Hopyard Park <br /> Mrs. Bengtson presented her report (SR 85:291) dated June 18, 1985, <br /> regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Ms. Diane Goluba, 2527 Corte Bella, stated she endorses this plan, adding <br /> this will be a City sponsored facility for all ages. <br /> <br /> Mr. Ralph Woods, 2292 Camino Brazos, representing the Racket Club, stated <br /> the present facilities are totally inadequate, and that the City desparately <br /> needs these courts. He expressed support of the plan. <br /> <br /> Mr. Harold Hemus stated that Pleasanton definitely needs this facility, <br /> and that it will promote Pleasanton as a city. <br /> <br /> Mr. Crutcher, representing the architects of Heacox-Crutcher and Associ- <br /> ates, expressed appreciation to the City staff and to the community for their <br /> input and cooperation in the master planning of this facility. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by <br /> Councilmember Butler, that Resolution No. 85-304, approving the Dr~ft Revised <br /> Preliminary Hopyard-Valley Park (T) Master Plan, be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> <br /> Minutes from Staff Traffic Committee Meeting of May 15, 1985 <br /> Mr. Okamura presented his report (IR 85:36) dated June 6, 1985, regarding <br /> this matter.
