Mayor Mercer declared the continued public hearing open on this item. <br /> <br /> Mr. Robert Brunsell, Bond Counsel, stated there have been no protests in connection <br />with this assessment district, and he recommended Council adoption of the appropriate <br />resolutions. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, that Resolu- <br />tion No. 85-124, approving report and assessment and ordering improvement in connection <br />with Assessment District No. 1984-2, Stoneridge Business Center; Adoption of Resolution <br />No. 85-125, authorizing change orders in connection with Assessment District No. 1984-2, <br />Stoneridge Business Center; Adoption of Resolution No. 85-126, determining assessments <br />remaining unpaid in connection with Assessment District No. 1984-2, Stoneridge Business <br />Center; Adoption of Resolution No. 85-127, authorizing issuance of bonds in connection <br />with Assessment District No. 1984-2, Stoneridge Business Center; and Resolution No. 85- <br />128, ordering sale of bonds to Imperial Securities Corporation in connection with Assess- <br />ment District No. 1984-2, Stoneridge Business Center, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />y~neyard Avenue/Vintage Hills Circulation and Land Use Study <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report (SR 85:118) dated March 12, 1985, regarding this <br />matter. He stated it is Planning Commission's recommendation that there be no further <br />approval of new projects, that is, no project before Planning Commission or City Council, <br />until after commencement of construction of the Bernal Avenue/Valley Avenue extension. <br />Mr. Harris stated that staff is recommending that there be no further approval of new <br />projects until after commencement of construction of the Bernal Avenue/Valley Avenue <br />and Bernal Avenue/Sunol Boulevard extensions. He advised that there are three projects <br />approved but construction has not yet started as follows: Castlewood Properties develop- <br />ment at Bernal and Vineyard; Caroline property on Vineyard Avenue opposite Mavis Drive; <br />and Amador Savings and Loan property south of Crellin Road and north of Arbor Drive. <br />tte stated it is not Planning Commission or staff's recommendation that these projects <br />should be stopped. <br /> <br /> Mr. Kent Pryor, 786 Sylvaner Drive, stated he owns a one acre lot next to the <br />bridge on Bernal Avenue that he would like to build a custom house on, and there is <br />the possibility that he would consider splitting the lot. He felt this would be <br />consistent with the density of the Remen Tract. He stated that a lot of traffic could <br />be minimized by not putting in high density. He stated he felt the traffic report is <br />thorough and he agreed with it. Mr. Pryor requested there be some compromise for <br />flexibility; stating that there should be allowance for some building in the Remen <br />Tract but that it not be substantial. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Margaret Tarver, 1144 Arak Court, presented a petition signed by 352 residents, <br />which read as follows: <br /> <br /> "We the undersigned, residents of Vintage Hills, Vintage Terrace and Mavis <br /> Drive, do hereby petition the Pleasanton City Council to enact the recommenda- <br /> tions contained in the Vintage Hills circulation and land use study, to wit: <br /> <br /> 1. That no new development, general plan amendments, pre-zoning or rezoning <br /> be approved in the study area until the Bernal Avenue extension, both north <br /> and south, be under construction and the critical traffic problems are re- <br /> solved; <br /> <br /> 6. 3/12/85 <br /> <br /> <br />
