on the south side of Pimlico Drive approximately 0.1 mile east of Santa Rita <br />Road <br />(Intro. 11-19-85, 4-Ayes, 1-No.) <br /> Mayor Brandes stated that Ordinance No. 1232 was introduced on November <br />19, 1985, by a vote of 4-Ayes, 1-No, and that it was now in order to adopt the <br />ordinance. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer stated that he has not seen the design plans for the <br />wall and landscaping, therefore he did not feel it is appropriate to adopt the <br />ordinance until these plans have been reviewed. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Mohr, that the adoption of Ordinance No. 1232 approving the <br />plication of Hivest, Inc., for Planned Unit Development plan to construct a <br />two building retail commercial complex on an approximately 2.0 acre site lo- <br />cated on the south side of Pimlico Drive approximately 0.1 mile east of Santa <br />Rita Road, be continued until after review of the design plans for the wall <br />and the landscaping. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mercer, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />SPECIAL REPORTS <br />Request for Approval to Prepared Working Drawings for 220 Units of Senior <br />Citizen Housing <br /> Mayor Brandes declared this item dismissed from the agenda at the request <br />of staff. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />Actions Taken by the Board of Adjustment, Design Review board, and Planning <br />Commission at their meeting of 11-26-85 <br /> Mr. Swift presented his report (SR 85:588) dated November 27, 1985, <br />regarding this matter. No action was required or taken by Council on the <br />item. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />Consideration of Draft Ordinance to Ban the Further Use of Roof Coverings <br />which do not Provide Fire Hazard Protection <br /> Mr. Hill presented his report (SR 85:583) dated November 25, 1985, regard- <br />ing this matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Dean LeField, Executive Officer, Associated Building Industry, a trade <br />organization serving five counties, stated they have not had ample time to <br />review the proposed ordinance and would request that the item be continued to <br />allow them time to review the ordinance. He stated they have several ques- <br />tions related to the proposed ordinance. He stated there are impacts beyond <br />the economic impacts which he felt should be addressed. <br /> <br /> Mr. Harry Abney, 7023 Bridgeport Circle, Stockton, representing Red Cedar <br />Shingle, stated he is concerned about the economic impact upon the roofing <br />companies and the cost to residents of the City. He stated this will severely <br />impact homeowners when they have to reroof. He questioned portions of the <br />draft ordinance as it related to access areas. He presented percentage fig- <br />ures of fires caused by cedar shingles; stating that cedar does not burn <br /> <br /> - 7 12-3-85 <br /> <br /> <br />
