The City may wish to retain portions of this property as an "urban reserve" for development at a later date. Councilmember Brandes suggested we might set aside a portion of this property for a cemetery or perhaps put it in reserve. Mayor Mercer also suggested a cemetery. Mr. Lee said the Industrial Review Committee suggested that the City set aside this property for ten years. There was a consensus that Parcels 7 & 8 be redesignated to mostly Medium Density Residential with some High Density Residential, Commercial & Office, Public and Institutional and Park & Recreation and designated as an "urban reserve" for development after 1996. D. Infill Areas Parcel 9 - Kaiser: Councilman Brandes felt we should.leave the designation as is and if Kaiser builds the hospital, we should make the change at that time. There was a consensus to redesignate the acreage from Commercial & Office to Public & Institutional. Parcel 10 - Prudential: There was a consensus to redesignate acreage from General & Light Industrial to Industrial, Commercial & Office. Parcel 11 - CPS: There was a consensus to redesignate acreage from HDR to VHDR. Parcel 12 - Ponderosa: There was a consensus to redesignate acreage from MDR to HDR. Parcel 13 - Various Owners: There was a consensus to redesignate acreage from MDR to HDR. Parcel 14 - Various Owners: There was a consensus to redesignate acreage to indicate a mix of MDR and HDR. Parcel 15 - Marsh: Commissioner Wilson felt this is not a good site for a residential area because of gravel trucks and noise. There was a consensus to redesignate this area to a mix of Low Density Residential and Medium Density Residential. Parcel 16 - Various Owners: There was a consensus that this should have a "Specific Plan" designation. - 4 -
