Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open on the application and the negative declaration. Mr. Don Beardsley, Land Use, representing. the applicants, advised the rezoning is requested in order to bring the parcels in conformance with the General Plan. He stated he concurs with the staff report and requests approv- al of the application. Mr. James Griffin, 3036 Chardonnay Drive, stated he supports the kind of development being presented but has concerns regarding the grading plan. Mr. Frank Belecky, 892 Madeira Drive, stated he felt there should be an exit from this property as well as the Texeira property directly out onto Vineyard Avenue. He requested Council to look closely at the grading plan. There being no further testimony, Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing closed on the application and the negative declaration. It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Bran- des, that Resolution No. 85-445, determining on the basis of a review of ini- tial environmental study done for this project, that no significant environ- mental impact would occur as outlined in the City's guidelines and that a negative declaration is appropriate in connection with RZ-85-7, application of the Pleasanton School District and Amador Savings and Loan to rezone an ap- proximately 22.3 acre site from the "P" (Public and Institutional) District to the R-1-6500 (Single-family Residential) District, located on the north side of Crellin Road, immediately east of the residences on the east side of Syl- vaner Drive and 600 feet southeast of Chardonnay Drive, be adopted.
